39 posts in this topic

I am working to compile a thread for the Fan Unite/Questions forum of what to do, bars places to eat downtown around the stadium. Since my job is MOM, I don't do [s] much[/s] ok any bar hopping any more. If you would like to help, include a favorite place with an address or web link and I will include it in my thread.

If its not just food, you also have the sports legends museum, where you can go see all about the history of Baltimore/MD sports.

I do so love Aquarium!
Food, bar s cool places to see. We get several requests a month from visiting fan Ravens and opposing. I just don't know what is in the harbor area anymore.

I just finished updating my Westminster one, that I will save for next year. :throwcomp: I am much more familiar with Westminster/ Owings Mills then down town.

Worst.Place.Ever.

I usually prefer to be home or over a friends house to watch the game, but if Im out I prefer a few places...

The Mount Royal Tavern, a.k.a."the Dirt Church"(Bolton Hill) http://baltimore.citysearch.com/profile/4981615/baltimore_md/mt_royal_tavern.html
It's like it's nickname sounds and as blue collar as it gets, you won't see anyone in there during a game not wearing a Ravens jersey.
The drinks are cheap and strong, and they let you bring in outside food.
Plus, Two Boots pizza place is across the street. It gets crazy in there, you better hope the Ravens win.
Cash only, and no tabs.

Slainte: (Fells Point) http://slaintepub.com/
Its a great atmosphere inside Slainte and located in Fells Point, by the water.
The food is Irish/American pub food that is always well prepared, and you get the best Guinness in town.
They are more known as a English Football place, but they show Ravens games too.

the Abbey http: (Federal hill) http://www.abbeyburgerbistro.com/
The Abbey is like Slainte in the sense that you'll see a lot of English Football fans, the atmosphere is nice and the food is awesome, some of the best burgers in town, hands done, plus they offer wild game as well. It's more of a Belgian style Bar.

If you aren't from Baltimore and want a real Bmore tradition, go to the Mount Royal Tavern.

Mother's in federal hill is a nice place to watch the game. It has decent food, good drinks, and a nice gameday environment. It gets packed.

yeah, yeah, I get it, but trust me, if you lived up here, and particularly in Hampden, where I live and Cafe Hon is located, you'd feel the same way.
Not getting into the politics of it though, Hon!

36th has blown up; lots of good shops and places to eat, and Im not talking sub shops, I mean nice restaurants.
If you were to walk down 36th, aka "the avenue" you'd see rich people, students, "hipsters" and those that grew uo here. It's one of the safest places in the city.
O'Malley put a lot of money in Hampden.
How long has it been since you've lived here?

I'd have to 2nd the vote for the Aquarium - it's not since I left Baltimore that I've realized how awesome the Baltimore Aquarium is... definitely one of the best in the nation!

...and while it's about 10-15min from downtown, if you're heading east toward Dundalk, you've GOTTA hit up Jimmy's on Holabird Ave for crabs. My absolutely most favoritest place. (And just eat in the bar, not the fancy-foo-foo restauraunt).

Brilliant thread!

Fells is my favorite place to visit when I'm there. But I've also enjoyed the aquarium, Ft. McHenry and the inner harbor festivities when they are happening as well. One of these days I will see the Yanks play at Camden Yards.

If you go to Camden Yards make sure you are wearing green to look like one of the many empty seats that they have during the season.

I was in the Yard the night Cal broke The Streak. My friends and me were up in the nosebleeds totally intoxitated, bawling like a bunch of little kids. Was greatly amusing, as was the cab ride back to the house.

Oh and I haven't been back since! *giggle*

Whether the team's bad or worse, Camden Yards is still, and always will be, a great place to watch a baseball game.

I remember going to Yankees Stadium back in the day, and that was quite an experience, even though I despise them haha.
