Help With My Team

5 posts in this topic

Ok so my coworkers started a league VERY early in my opinion, but anyway, this is my team. We are using standard scoring expect a catch is 0.5 points and a QB TD is 5 instead of 4. it is a 10 team league

QB Peyton Manning Round 3
RB Ray Rice Round 1 (Homer as hell considering Chris Johnson and Charles were on the board but leach -Mcgahee will mean a big year
RB Frank Gore Round 2
RB/WR Ahmad Bradshaw Round 5
WR Mike Wallace Round 4
WR Anquan Boldin round 7
TE Jason Witten ROund 6
K Mason Crosby
D Falcons and Pats

Bench
Shonn Greene
Steve Smith Panthers
Malcolm Floyd
Austin Collie
Donovan McNabb
Dustin Keller

Any suggestions on moves? I have a proposed trade right now waiting for a kid to decide with Bradshaw, Boldin and Falcons D for Greg Jennings Marshawn Lynch and Ravens D. What are peoples thoughts on that trade?

Also since its 0.5 PPR, I think I am gonna drop Dustin Keller and pick up Danny Amendola

I really like your team. You did a great job picking up players that will help you in your format. Bradshaw and Rice are great to have in a PPR league, and Peyton should get you a ton of TDs. I dont think I would do that trade if I were you. Jennings is a great WR, but I think his fantasy value is going to take a hit with Finley coming back. Plus they still have Driver, Nelson, Jones, and Cobb (what a ridiculous WR corps) with Rodgers spreading it around pretty well. Boldin should have a bigger role in the Offense this year IMO, I would expect 1000 yds and 7-8 TDs from him.

I don't see you improving much with that trade. Jennings is a better receiver than Boldin, but in a PPR league he doesn't bring much more value. Bradshaw is just a far better option than Lynch, and though the Ravens have a better D than the Falcons, I don't know how much that difference translates to football. The deciding factor, for me, is that Bradshaw is a better back than Lynch playing with a better offense in general.

Yea that trade expired anyway looks like the kid either didnt want it or didnt look

I just proposed boldin and bradshaw for Larry Fitzgerald. I think with a decent QB he has a big time year. If that one isnt accepted I am gonna just keep my team as is barring injury.

I might try and make some other moves but if this Fitz trade doesnt get accepted I might just keep my WRs. I also have Austin Collie who, when healthy, was a BEAST last year. Easily the #3 target on the colts behind Wayne and Clark, and Peyton seems to love him. He has health issues but I might platoon Collie and Boldin. Against the Steelers Boldin performed well last year and I dont see a shutdown Corner on their team so I probably start Boldin but against the Jets or someone like that I probably go Collie.

I have never played a league where the third position is a RB/WR hybrid so I went RB heavy thinking they could get me more points. Gore is an injury risk but he catches a lot of passes. None are better IMO than Rice out of the backfield and Bradshaw is solid in that role too.

As for QB, with QB TDs being worth an extra point, I felt that made Vick a little less valuable, and Rodgers, Manning, Brees and Brady more valuable.

Peytons neck injury worries me but he put up big time stats without clark, collie and a hobbled wayne toward the end of the season.

WOW. You either have a league that owners know very little about drafting, or your pretty darn good.
I like Keller as a sleeper because he has more chemistry with Sanchez than most of their receiving core, over Amendola IMO. Also Boldin maybe in for a stellar season with Lee, and Torrey Smith popping lids of defenses, Boldin can do what he was doing for years in AZ.
