I was really surprised to see Reid rated as highly as 70. He'll be started from the off I think. I thought Oher's overall rating seemed a little low, but having looked at his individual ratings I can't complain too much as they are pretty good.

EDIT: Having taken a closer look at Jimmy's ratings, I'm very happy with them. 91 man coverage and 93 press is really good. In fact, it's only his awareness and play recognition ratings which keep him from being very highly rated.

How lazy, some of those ratings havent been touched fo years. They sure hit Boldin hard though.

I think all of those are fair ratings except like always, I feel Ray Rice and Todd Heap should be higher.

yea when that awareness goes up, he will be very fun to play with. bully the receiver off the line and cut off their slant route for a pick to the house!

Yea, these ratings has been the same for some years . Doss and Torey Smith should be faster, as well as Rice. Glad they moved McClain up as well as Grubbs and Oher deserved the increase.

It's too bad they rate the rookies so low because in reality I don't think the play will drop off at all from Kelly Gregg to Mount Cody, but in the game it's like a 12 point drop off which hurts. Same goes with the other veterans that we replaced with younger players. Same goes with the TE's and I think our young receivers are also capable of duplicating the production of Mason this year.

I'll be honest, the ratings are mediocre at best - like always.

I'll be changing pretty much every rating of every player during Franchise Mode anyway, since the ratings Naz...err, Czar doesn't know the difference between Football and Soccer.

if these ratings get changed we lose Ed and Ray, lol who both have been 95 or higher since like 04. im not ready for them to drop off just yet

Wow, Arthur Jones got butchered. He sure looks like a 55 OVR on the field. I think he'll get bumped up to to low-mid 70's after the preseason.

When does the first change to the player ratings occur? I thought they didn't alter them until week 8 or 9 or so?

They update the rosters the first day it comes out. I don't know if they touch the ratings that soon. All I know is we're gonna be getting bumped up quite a bit all over when they do update those numbers. Cary williams' press could use some work. the receivers will get a boost I'm pretty sure as well as the d-line and linebackers. But that's just my prediction based on how I've seen them play and how much better it is from last year. More sacks = higher rated d

Ya it kind of frustrating how the young guys that will be starting for us (Cody, Dickson, Pitta, Art Jones, Doss ect.) are rating so low, but you just know that they are going to see a lot of action and for example; Art Jones (55 ovr) could consivably beat out Cody Redding (82 ovr) for the starting spot this year.

Terrence Cody being 71 ovr, Dickson being 72 ovr; I know they didn't do a lot last year but this guy's are a lot better players than their ratings reflect. Like Kelly Gregg is 85 and Cody is 71. I think most people believe that Cody will play at Gregg's level this year and I think he'll be even better.

Just kinda frustrating, but I guess they let you edit them yourself anyways so I might find myself doing that. Maybe put Cody up to a 77 ovr until he really proves himself. I think that's a pretty fair rating considering Kruger got 79 ovr and has done about the same or maybe a little less in his 2 years as Cody was able to do last year.

I was thinking about upping Kindles strength from a 69 and a few basic things like that but I'm afraid I'd get a little carried away

I typically run out of the 4-6 defense for us so Cody having that monster strength and block-shedding is going to be great for stopping the run especially with him being next to Ngata. Also, Jimmy and that monster 91 man coverage is fantastic. Blitzing should be fun. lol

The people that decided on that rating have clearly never seen Sergio Kindle. He looks huge this year.

Oh ya that always happens to me, so I always convince myself not to edit the ratings at all. That's why it frustrates me so much when they screw them up like they did with some of the Ravens young guys.

Agreed. Kindle needs a bump in strength. He will be a good speed rusher though off the edge with that 82 speed, 93 Acceleration, 80 Agility, and 92 Finesse Moves.

Ya they are way too extreme with their ratings. Like Jimmy Smith having 40 awareness and then having 90's in coverage. Like make him 65 in awareness and 85 in coverage to give him the 76 ovr rating. Just way too unbalanced.

Ed Reed must be very highly rated in some catagories because his overall is still 97 or whatever it is, but I agree thats just ridiculous and way too unbalanced.

Yeah he's highly rated in other categories but a 59 tackling? I understand he isn't a tackling machine, but a 59 tackling is taking it a bit too far.

Rookies tend to have a low awareness in Madden so I wasn't too upset with Jimmy. His man and zone coverage stats will still come in handy.

Anybody see how ridiculously awesome Ray's strength is? Strongest LB in the game. I remember in past games when he had 82 strength and he'd get pancaked. I don't see it happening too much in this years version.
