Eagles won't trade him.

Pretty much everything you pointed out besides Leach is based on pure optimism. J. Smith is better than Josh Wilson? How many passes from NFL quarterbacks did Jimmy Smith knock down last year?
I don't think he was saying Smith is better than Wilson, just that we lost Wilson and gained Smith. Thats what the +/- would be for.

nope it's all mine.

I believe we have enough talent on this team to make up for our two rookie WRs. I also think that if we do not sign anyone else, Smith, Doss, and Reed can be good WRs for us. I also believe Dickson is going to be a really good recieving TE. I'm just gonna wait until Preseason games before I make any judgments on this years team.
I agree. Why is it when someone stats the obvious, there is always someone out there to get emotional about it. You need to sit back, drink your beer or rum and coke, and watch them play. You are not the GM, coach, nor scout. Your life does not depend upon the Ravens winning the Super Bowl.

season doesnt start for a month so i guess theres still a chance we bring him in. depends on the price, both in cap space and what we'd have to give up to get him (hes not a FA)

no i mean we got worse by losing proven talent
No I mean the fact that Dickson and co (the young guys) got better. Personally, I dont agree with that sentiment because we only let 6 pieces go: Mase (old and declining), Gregg (replacement already found and old/declining), Heap (injury prone), Willis (way too expensive), Chester (Way too expensive), Landry (expensive and not a cover guy), McClain (wants to play RB) and Josh Wilson (expendable and expensive).

We gained Torrey, Doss, Reid, J. Smith, Leach, Pollard, and we got two people back from injury (as well as having some guys who played last year be healthier): Kindle and Foxworth. Not to mention, FA is still happening.

Plus all of our Youth in Flacco, Rice, Oher, Cody, Ngata, Webb, McClain, Ellerbee, etc. has another year of experience under their belt. And we have an easier schedule.

I dont see how we could be worse than last season

Jerricho Cotchery, why don't we take a risk on him.
Cut by the Jets because he failed his physical due to injury. He's going to have to heal up before he'll pass our physical.

He failed a physical and Mason is a better version of him. Mason also has history here and knows the offense.

exactly, no doubt in my mind that wilson was our best cb last year but with foxy comin back n smith to compete for the starting line up id say it could even out, maybe better, maybe worse. foxy + j smith > wilson + wash, with webb n carr staying

I'm not trying to be negative, but the only thing we did improve was our running game and we still need a backup running back. Other then that we really didn't do much at all to improve our team. You cant depend on rookies to get you over the hump and to the superbowl. Our receiving game will be the same as last year with the same problems with no one getting open and shutdown. We can't get over the steeler hump if we can't score enough points. I think and hope we will make some more moves with all the cap we have left, but as of right now we are the same team as last year with some promising rookies that's it.

Lets get something straight, those of you who come here to complain about people complaining: I don't think any of us are sitting here crying at our keyboards, sweating bullets, losing sleep over the fact that our offseason has been pretty unproductive and almost counter-productive. None of us are "freaking out", typing in all caps, burning all of our jerseys and jumping into the Harbor. Simply saying, "This offseason has sucked" is not a crazy thing to say. This team has been bad before. We've all been there. We do not want to go back to that sad time when we lost to the 0-12 Miami Dolphins. So if we seem a little lost when our team cuts 3 of our most storied players at once and replaces them with almost nothing, while our rival, who had $10m less dollars to spend, re-signed their biggest FA and restructured their biggest contracts to get under the cap while cutting only 1 part time starter, it's with good reason.

I think some people are overrating Wilson last year. He might of been our best healthy CB last year, but I don't believe Carr was far behind him. If Foxy can build on to the end of the 09 season and recover well from his injury, I believe he can be just as good as Wilson if not better. The skies the limit for The Jimmy. Just my opinion though.

I knew I forgot somebody. My bad. Still, so out of an entire draft, ONE guy got enough yards to qualify as a No. 1 or No. 2 receiver, a few guys got close enough to qualify as a 3rd receiver, and a whole bunch more (including everybody else from the 1st and 2nd rounds) got 300 yards or less. Again, if we're relying on our rookies to save our pass offense this year, we'd all better start praying Ozzie finally figured out how to draft them.
We don't need our rookies to be a #1. That's what Boldin is for. I would like to have another veteran presence, but I also believe Torrey, Doss, and Reed have real talent. You are right that rookie WRs often don't have big years, but they are rarely given the opportunity. Last year was a perfect example of what rookies apcan do when put on the field. We also aren't the only team that may be starting a rookie. Atlanta is all-in with Julio Jones and they are excited about what he is doing, not worried.

You know what's funny, before Mason got cut we were all happy with him, he was a warrior and no one thought he was getting cut. Now that he's gone and might be getting resigned we are somehow upset about it, we no longer want him and he's a downgrade from something we never had in the first place. We never had Floyd or Moss or TO or Vincent Jackson or whoever.

So what if we sign him back...good for us, get Ngata signed long term and that frees up cap space and then maybe the Ravens can sign some OL depth, a backup QB, or a WR..or they trade for one!!!

Our CB situation is fine, there's a guy name Cary Williams, a CB, who made plays last year in preseason and camp, well he's been doing it again this year and he's going to be a stud if he gets a chance to play..CB is fine

I wouldn't mind bringing him in. He is coming off offseason back surgery, but he got the go-ahead from his doctor. If he passes his physical, why not.

Not overrating him at all. Wilson was the better corner. He didn't even start until Week 9, hadn't had any training camp time to learn the defense, and still led all CBs in INTs and passes defensed. And need I remind you the guy won a game for us? Anybody really believe Houston wasn't going to score on that drive without somebody stepping up and stopping them? That guy was Wilson. Not Carr, not Webb, but Wilson.

I believe we were in a much worse situation heading into the season last year at certain positions. I was more worried last year than I am this year. Ozzie knows what he is doing.

Right place right time, as well as a bad decision. I do believe he is being overrated compared to other players. He has great play making ability no doubt, but Carr was just as solid in coverage. He may not be as big of a play maker as Wilson, but his coverage skills were up there with his imo.

We just cut 1800 yards of receiving from last year. Who's going to provide that (or more, which is what we should be getting) this year? If Torrey Smith gets 900 yards this year, we'd still need another 900 between Dickson, Doss and Reed. And that's just to maintain the same level of production from last year, which I don't think any of us were actually happy with.

You could say "right place right time, as well as a bad decision" on 95% of interceptions. If that's all it took, then why couldn't Carr be in the "right place right time" more times than Wilson last year when he started 7 more games than him?

Edit: Watch that play again. Wilson anticipated that the throw would be short and jumped the route. That's not like some interception where a DT tips the ball into the air and the CB just happens to be standing right underneath of it when it comes down. Wilson made that play about as well as any CB could be expected to.
