Man, all these injuries make our chances for playoffs better. San Diego's defense is crippled, Patriots are well.. screwed, Jag's lost 2 O lineman.

Sucks for the Chargers though, though Merrimans fault for taking steroids.

it wasn't wise to play even the first game where he could've suffered a career ending injury. good to see he came to his senses though.

Merriman should have never set a foot on a NFL field this season. If you go and see doctor after doctor and they all say the same thing then that is what it is! :o
Though I wonder what made him make this decision after risking it in one game...?
yeah, i was thinking the same thing. Did the owner or GM tell him its in his best intrest to get it done and produce for many more years? did he tweak it in the game and scare himself? or did he just come to realize the effects it could have on his life?

I hope he just realized how much it could hurt him in the long term, but i dont know.... seems dumb enough to wait this long... at least it helps our lookout this year lol :D

I read that after the game it felt sore to him and that he seemed to notice how it effect him in the game.

However I have my own theory . . .

I think after getting beat by the Panthers even Merriman has to admit that their chances of getting to the SB are smaller than he thought so he decided to fix the injury and look forward to better days.
