Do You Think Art Jones Will Make It Into The Starting Lineup?

100 posts in this topic

out of all of the changes and new pieces we have this year, i am most excited about arthur jones. if he wins the starting position i will be really happy because it would mean he beat out redding, who is a pretty good player in his own right. i think that we may have struck gold when we plucked him out of the fifth round

Oh snap, I didn't notice this at first, but it appears Jonesy has taken a new number... He's wearing #97, just like in college.

I was hoping Jones would show promise after hearing about him training with Dwight Freeney towards the end of the off season. He was first round talent but injuries and juniors entering the draft made his stock fall similar to Greg Romeus who was also considered a first round pick coming into the season. With every body is saying he is having a great training camp, his continous work in the off season with MMa training and Freeney, a year under his belt I think he is going to start and be a pleasant surprise. I think this scouting report does a great job summing Jones up, plus the picture of him talking Rice is awesome.

I like Jonesy and think that he will be in there a lot this season. I doubt he will start unless someone goes down. He's a real champ like his brother.

Ehhhh, its just a number man...Kelly Gregg did work for us for a long time but you cant retire every Ravens player's numbers. I have no problem with Jones taking it.

Besides Jones said he talked to Gregg and he said it was fine...he's honoring Gregg

I'm a huge MMA fan and if I remember correctly Art is Jon "Bones" Jones' brother (UFC lightheavvyweight champ)

I know they're just brother's, but Jon Jones is a flippin' athletic freak in MMA. Freakishly big/strong/fast/explosive (He also has an egrigiously long reach, something like 84').
I know there's no comparison between MMA and NFL levels of athleticism, but Jon Jones is a beast, if Art has that same level of athletic giftedness then he could be a scary man at LE. I'm definately looking forawrd to what he has to offer. With the right coaching I believe he could start in a year or two, assuming he has such gifts.
