No more "R. Lewis?"

With the departure of Jamal Lewis, will our Ray Lewis still have "R. Lewis" posted on his jersey or will it just be "Lewis" from now on?

Thats a pretty good question. It would make sense that they would get rid of the R. But then again when you picture a "52" jersey, you picture R. Lewis above it, so it would definitley look weird at first. As long as its the same Ray playing they might as well put GOD on the back of his shirt haha.

The JCPenney catalog is still selling his jerseys as R. Lewis, so I guess he's keeping the R...it would be kind of strange to change it now.

That doesn't really mean anything, they were still selling the jerseys with the Ravens symbol on the arm during off-season, when that year they changed the ravens symbol to the Maryland sign.

What I am saying is, if it were to change, the JC Penney still has the jerseys with "R. Lewis" on them and they wouldn't just throw out merchandise to bring in the new. Especially when the word is not official.

I hope he keeps his R. would suck for everyone including myself who bought his jersey with the R in it.. even though it wouldn't be much of a difference, but then again I never wear his jersey since it's the all purple one and I hate the all purple =/, should have got it in the all black with the white numbers they have out them jerseys are pretty tight!. Don't know if any of you guy's have seen those they been out for awhile now. I think they make them for all the teams in all black with the white numbers etc..

Yeah just would suck if they make him take it off.... But ohwell would seem a bit weird would take me awhile to get used to that new look even though it isn't that big of a change.

Well I'd be more than happy to change my last name to Lewis and take up a roster spot for the continuity of the R.Lewis 52 jersey. Sure it'd interept my fall and winter but I'm willing to make that sacrifice for the team and fanbase

I dunno. Having to use a roster spot like that would probably annoy Coach Billick. And that means that you'd be playing the position of Team Tackling Dummy. Ouch.
