the game reed came back, which was the buffalo games, was the first time fitzpatrick threw for more than 300 yards. in fact, he threw for 382 yards. he only threw for over 300 yards 1 more time in 2010 and that was against the bengals. 316 yards. both games he tied a season high 4 tds as well.

I watched those highlights again the other day and it was maddening to see how easily Fabe was getting torched. Webb was decent but Fitzpatrick's throws to Steve Johnson were mostly on point.

Wonder what the Saints are expecting out of Fabe

I lol'd at that one. Looks like the kind of mentality I want in my secondary.

I like this move... he plays like a raven. Hes suspect in coverage, .. but so was laundry, I think this could be an upgrade when you look at it. You have to realize to he played in a GARBAGE texans secondary. When things are that bad, people try to overcompensate for lack of skill at other positions, their coverage schemes were a mess, and so we're their players. Hes coming into a structured defense with a talented veteran secondary. I look for him thrive in our defense. Im excited, even tho i was looking forward to seeing what Zibby could bring to the table (unfortunately its a highly infectious skin condition atm) lol. Pollard was brought in to start... just saying.

Nice signing, but we still are in desperate need of OL help and pass rush!! Not to mention a WR (hopefully Floyd at this point).

I just don't get it we already had a SS in Zibby witch i thought played well last year and knows our system. I hope we didn't pay him very much because we need a vet WR a RT back up QB and center i think we could have used our cap space better.

,No doubt that anyone that plays for the Ravens D plays better than where they came from or where they went and judgin Pollard off of playing for the Chiefs and the Texans who had the worst rank secondary in the league isn't entirely fair. Also, people keep saying when Zibi was our starting FS when Ed was out about how our secondary was ranked #1 and all but I feel that was more of a coiencedence than anything as far as the teams we played in that stretch but look at the teams and QBs we faced. Sanchez who maybe threw for 100 yards, Palmer who we held them to 5 field goals, the Browns who had Colt but they ran the ball a ton as Hillis tore us a new one, Steelers who had Dixon at QB and Denver with Orton and the only legitamate QB we faced was Brady. Its hard to judge Zibi by the stretch of QBs he faced so the verdict is still out on Zibi and Pollard very well can beat him out at SS.

Don't know much about him, but him and Zibby will probably battle to start. They could also use them in different situations, which is what I think they will do.

Didn't this guy sack Flacco when we played them last? Also I read somewhere that he had over a 100 tackles each of the past 2 years. It may be a really good pick up.

However, here is my issue with the moves being made. Why are we not picking free agents out of need? I thought we had the safety position pretty covered between Zibby and Haruki. Why are we not shoring up the O-line since Harbs is cribbing about it all through camp about O-Line reps this and the other? Now that Osi is out, who provides our pass rush unless we feel that Kindle has arrived and ready to take over pass rush duties opposite Suggs? 6-8 of our starters are gone and signed with outher teams with the exception of Mason who happens to be visiting the Jets as I type. Come on front office do something you are making me really nervous!

Orton is a very legitimate qb. He was actually on pace to break marinos record when he entered that game against us.

Orton is not a legitimate QB in my eyes and many b/c if he were teams wouldn't always look to upgrade him ( Bears and now Broncos ). His job is always on the line and when I say that, I mean it with emphasis. He has always had someone breathing down his back.

Before I go any further, what's your definition of legitimate b/c you could be right how ever you define legitimate.

we played 3 good quarterbacks when zibi was filling in for reed. brady, palmer and orton. and dont get it twisted, palmer may have had a down year last year but he's not a bum. in fact he had 11 games in which he threw for over 200 yards. 3 games he threw for over 300 yards and 1 game he threw for over 400 yards. the second game we played the bengals, he threw for 305 yards. first game, he threw for 167. guess which one zibikowski was starting in?

Well, this guy is definitely a Raven at heart. Cant believe some of you guys dont remember the hits he put on us when we played. Not a game changing pickup, but he's a better version of Landry.

I always envisioned us with a Roy Williams 2.0 type of safety to go with Ed centerfield style. I know the league is a pass happy league and its better to have two cover safties but in the Ravens D, we can make it work I feel.

why don't we just put Webb at his natural position? safety. let's look at it this way, we have jimmy smith, chris carr, and dominique foxworth as our top 3 corners. Webb is hard hitting with great instincts but just hasnt gotten a hang of the man coverage. Put him back there with Ed. Can't hurt.

Nowadays you need 4 good corners to win in the league. we cant afford to put Webb at safety. we need him at CB. who else is going to play that 4th spot?

He's undersize and injuries would more than likely plague him like other undersize guys that played that position ( Leohnard, Polomalu, Ed,etc... ). I feel he would be great back there too but he would have to take on 220lb+ RBs and that will wear him down.

The Broncos were fielding the #1 passing offense at the time of our contest. Kyle Orton was averaging over 350 YPG, and was on pace to break Dan Marino's record for most passing yards in a season. Whatever your opinion of Orton may be, they were certainly a legitimate passing threat when they played us, so throwing him into the list of names including Colt McCoy and Charlie Batch (Not Dennis Dixon) understates their production throughout the first 4 weeks.

It has nothing really to do with my opinion, its the organizations he has played for and there were other areas to address, yet the Broncos moved up to get Tebow and there are rumors that Tebow will start this season but the only thing that may help Orton is this lockout stuff. Orton got benched towards the end of last season and that shows you woud the organization thinks about him throwing for over 350 yds on pace to break Marinos record, those stats has to be deceiving somewhere. Even in Chi town, he was benched for Grossman ad they eventually shipped him for Cutler so if he was legitimate as you making him out to be, why has all of that took place concerning him?

So he is. for some reason I was under the impression he was 6'1". Don't ask me why. and he's only about 188 pounds. Zibikowski is 5'11" 215 pounds. Another thing I didn't know. I thought for sure Webb was bigger all around. I will say this though, Webb is around the same size of Reed if he puts on another 12 pounds. Wouldn't mind having Webb back there at FS when Reed decides to call it quits

Obviously, the FO doesn't have much faith in our two young safeties as we thought, that's what's going on.
