Bernard Pollard, A Raven!

According to Aaron Wilson and some reports out of Houston, he could be on his way to Baltimore. What do you guys think of this?

That would be a pretty good signing. I don't know if he's any better than Landry in coverage, but the guy can certainly tackle and blitz effectively.

I guess they know something about Zibi we dont......I would be okay with this move (hes a good DB) for the right price, of course.

Pollard's an underrated player. He's been a solid producer for the last four years. I wouldn't be upset by the signing, considering Zbikowski and Nakamura haven't really shown that much.

I was realllly hoping for Zibby to be able to take that Strong Safety spot beside Reed, and still think he can. Bernard Pollard though, I seem to remember him in week 14 against us getting to Flacco on the same type of Safety blitzes the squeelers threw at us with Palmolive. Either way, I think he will be a quality depth signing for us insurance wise and hopefully he can perform.

Pollard would certainly be a starter for us, making Zibi depth once again. I am kind of torn here. I think I want this to happen!

Well, I'd be kind of surprised, seeing as the Ravens never really sink money into the guy who plays next to Reed...unless they think he can take over for Reed in a year or two??

You may be right about Pollard being a starter. He is a very quality football player. Im partial towards Zibby ... Ive always thought he could thrive in a starting role but hes always had setbacks

I actually really like this pick up. I think he will do fairly good for us and will fit in, adding some depth to our safeties is nice also. He will most likely start over Zibby which is fine with me since I never really like Zibby.

I bet Zibby got that skin condition from boxing, very possible....Ravens might be upset with him ?

As long as they can make these moves and get under the cap, I dont care...if they think it makes us better, im not going to judge

He's made 100+ tackles for 2 years straight, and 2 years of 90+ before that, the year before last he broke up 7 passes and made 4 INTs and 1 TD...last year he had none, he did have 3 sacks

I dont know, I havent seen him play much and I know the Texans secondary was crap but this guy has produced at a fairly high level for 4 years...the front office must see something they like

Pollard plays like a Raven, plain and simple. He is young, an imposing physical specimen at 6'1 224 and causes turnovers. I like the move, another solid pick up. I bet Pollard is thrilled to be a member of this defense.

Just watched his 2010 highlight film and I am stoked to have this guy on our team.

He's the perfect definition of a box safety. He's not even better than Landry in coverage. He's great in run support and blitzing but will get exposed in coverage.

I love Pollard. He's not going to help us in coverage. But Landry hasn't done much of that. Pollard we can use in blitz packages. He could help our pass rush. He's a hard-hitting playmaker.

Maybe we can get a couple Sacks on Big Ben off the edges by a DB for once.

I would be very excited to see in him a Ravens Uni. He can play some Ravens football.

Yea I love this guy! This guy hits hard and is a very solid tackler. I am not sure how he is in coverage because every time I have seen him it's him hitting the crap out of somebody and to me that is the Raven way. I do like Zibby and Haruki but this guy is a monster and wouldn't mind one bit if he brings those hits this way.
