Washington, DC Ravens Bar

21 posts in this topic

Hey all,

I live in DC and have 5 or so close friends in the city who are all pretty big Ravens fans. We spent all last year trying to find a decent Ravens bar with no success (everybody said McFaddens... but that was awful). I'm proposing a bunch of Ravens fans all just meet up at the same bar somewhere in a central location. I'd love to watch the game in a bar full of 100 black and purple jerseys.

Let me know if anybody is interested and if so, what your location suggestion is. I live near Columbia Heights but am down for just about anywhere in NW (or elsewhere if the scene is good enough).

Later,
Rob

There is a Ravens Meetup Group that is forming called The Baltimore Ravens Fan Group-Virginia DC Metro Chapter, they are having a viewing get together to watch the Ravens-Eagles preseson game at Bailey's in Ballston Commons Mall on August 11th. Baileys Pub and Grill is located at 4238 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA and is located near the Ballston Metro. For more info click on this link. I hope they get a bar that is metro accessible for the regular season games although Metro stinks on the weekend alot of the time due to single tracking and/or station closures.

I will try to go watch the Ravens-Eagles game and see how it goes.

Awesome, glad a DC area fan base is trying to organize. I was just thinking about starting a Facebook page for people in the DC area to get together to watch games. I will join the Meet Up group and check out the Ravens-Eagles game. Hopefully it is better than McFaddens was last year. I'll be going to all of the home games but I'm interested in finding a bar to watch all the away games with other fans.

Ben

PS: Finding a bar in DC as opposed to VA would be my preference.

There is also the Rock Bottom Brewery in Bethesda, MD that while not a full blown Ravens bar, has a good turn out of Ravens fans. I checked out Buffalo Billards in Dupont Circle and it sounds good. If you are going to watch the Steelers-Ravens game anywhere I suggest you get there as soon as the doors open to get a good spot. Those Steeler fans usually crowd the good viewing spots.

I'm in College Park, so DC is very close and metro-accessible for me if I want to go to a sports bar to watch Ravens games with other fans, but I have a car so I usually just go to Baltimore. Or drive home to Owings Mills and take the lightrail.

Being a Ravens fan in Redskins' country is no fun. But at least we have bragging rights almost every year. ;)

Has anyone found a good place to watch the September 11th game against the Steelers? If not I will be at the Rock Bottom Brewery in Bethesda, if anyone wants to join me let me know. The restaurant is located at 7900 Norfolk Ave, Bethesda, MD and is within walking distance of the Bethesda Metro. Their phone number is 301-652-1311. I will be wearing a Joe Flacco #5 jersey and a black Ravens cap. I'll try to get there around noon. Anyone found a better place yet?

Here is the annual list of College and Pro Football watching spots by On Tap Magazine on where to watch your teams games in the DC area. There are a few places that show the Ravens games in Bethesda, including RiRis, Caddies on Cordell, Flannigans Irish Pub and Rockbottom Brewary. Thank goodness McFaddens is off the list (now a Patriots bar)!

Hi,

So did anyone find or create a Ravens bar in DC? Anyone watching the Titans game anywhere in the district?
Nope, I went to Caddies on Cordell in Bethesda to watch the Steelers game and counted 11 Ravens fans which is not a bad turnout for a Ravens home game that is on Channel 9.

This weeks game will not be televised in DC as the Redskins are playing at home at the same time. Either I'm going to Caddies or the Rock Bottom Brewary or else I'm watching the game at Champps in Arlington, VA with the Ravens Fan Group NOVA-DC Metro Chapter.

Is the Ravens Fan Group NOVA-DC Chapter pretty big? It's so strange to me that there's nowhere in DC where Ravens fans gather.

There are about 30 members, but only 4 of us showed up to watch the preseason game against the Eagles. We just got the minimum 6 people to get a table at Champps to watch this weeks game against the Titans and could use more people showing up.

I just found a December post on a Glover Park message board that the Mason Inn is a Ravens Bar. According to the blogger, purple jerseys outnumber street clothes and the bartenders wear Ravens jerseys. That's where I'm heading on January 15th when the Ravens face the Steelers (probably) in the divisional round. It'll be nice to be in the majority over Steelers fans for a change.

This would be a great riddle to solve before next season for sure. I would love to catch a few at the bar with fellow Ravens fans.

MY ANGRY CHAIR -- if you go to MasonInn, can you let us know if it's really a Ravens bar??? I seriously would like to know where young DC Ravens fans watch games. I'll be at the game Sunday!

Cheers - grace

Went to Mason Inn on Sunday and yes, it really is a Ravens bar. I'll be heading over there for the AFC Championship game for sure.

Looked up the location, it's not Metro friendly unfortunately but I can probably work something around it. If I wasn't doing a cooking event on Sunday I'd probably head there to watch us take on the Pats!
