Vick will miss some games behind that poor o-line and running too much. And when VY steps in, plays poorly at home and gets booed by the fans....he will run away crying. And he thinks TEN fans were bad...try the Iggles fans. Oh hi Mike Kafka.

I really like what the Eagles are doing. Having a potent pass rush is what you need in this passing league because you have to put pressure on the QB constantly. Add that with excellent depth at secondary you have guys who can take away teams 3rd options since they are better than your typical players. The defensive weakness is in the LB corps which means opposing teams need to use the power running game to beat them into submission or have a suitable TE who can create havoc in the middle by going up against weak LBs.

But the Eagles are really setting up their defense to stop teams like the Saints and Packers (who don't really run all that much) from spreading the field and getting those quick 5-10 yard routes. Their defense is based on stopping the pass so I'd say it's a good combination of their fast scoring potent offense causing teams to follow from behind and thus ignoring the run in order to catch up with passing.

So if they DO meet the Ravens in the Super Bowl I think it would be a perfect matchup for the Ravens because they are focused on rebuilding their power running game which is a great anthesis to their defense. It won't be about getting into a shootout with the Eagles but rather bullying and overpowering them with the rushing attack.

I won't pencil Eagles into the Super Bowl, but to completely disregard their off-season moves and saying they will crash and burn is pretty crazy. The last time the Eagles had a huge off-season in '04 with signing Javon Kerease and TO they made it to the Super Bowl. They are an exciting team to watch and living with someone from Philly I'm most likely going to see all the games. I'm sure their will be a lot of jostling when the two teams face, even if it's only the preseason.

Not to mention, after that vince young will throw a tantrum and get thrown on the injured reserve. Then they will have some nobody starting for them and will have a terrible offense. One of the Big Three of corners is going to get hurt or traded, (one hopefully to us, and they have no linebackers so we will un all over them.

If Vick plays like he did last season, its going to be hard for any team to beat them, especially with the additions. That CB blitzing stuff, I'm sure Reid will throw in stuff for vick to combat that. Actually, with the skills Vick posses that no other QB has possesed, he could be literally unstoppable. Also, hopefully Reid helps Vick out some more with running the ball more and more screens.

Was it really necessary to post this is virtually every thread?

We have a shot at the title with this team, that's undeniable, but games are won on the field and not on the internet. 14-2 is not a common record, and I'd keep my expectations in check. The Bleacher Report is far from the most reliable source of sports journalism anyways.

but like Trent Dilfer said if he could preach to the world he would preach substance not glamour and i dont think the eagles have much substance but they deffinitley have the glamour.. i personally think the ravens are deep at every position except Corner and OL

As long as we get through 4 quarters without any serious injuries, I don't care what the final score is.

Andy Reid said on his WIP coach's show expect the starters to play the 1st quarter, the second team the second Q on Thurs. vs. Ravens.

Rookies thrown to the fire.

Vick will always struggle when faced with pressure. That corner blitz has always given him problems and as long as the opposite DE contains the edge things will be ok.

Im interested to see Pagano's play calling, and Kindle finally getting out there.

So anyone knows the list of projected players playing for this game? like all 25 rookies? Doss and Torrey will play as 1st and 2nd team? I think they need game reps as many as possible.

Vicks best year passing wise was the first year in the league. Teams are more used to him now and can gameplan for it

Yeah that number 3 guy looks good. Looks like he could run a pick back for anywhere between 107-108 yards

I think he looks terrible in coverage probably not even make the practice squad! Definitely no chance he ever returns an INT for a TD or anything, heck he will probably never get an interception in the NFL, total bum! lol :)

That last statement might be slight sarcasm.

sorry to tell you but pagano came out and said to expect a "vanilla defense" against the eagles, he doesnt want to give away too much too early

Matchups I'm looking forward to:

- Oher vs. Trent Cole

- Ravens WRs vs. Eagles CBs

- Vick vs. Ravens secondary
Ugh, I'm glad it's a preseason game because that match up is terrible. Nnamdi and Boldin pretty much cancel each other out, Asante Samuel and Rodgers-Cromartie vs Doss and Torrey is a huge mismatch.
