I've had a 1970 Bears game jersey number 40 for years. Does anyone remember Gale Sayers? It's hard to believe how good he was until he blew out his knee that year.

**** that..throw a jersey that cost close to $100? hells no, id keep it, im not wasting money like that..dont care how much he sucked or how little he came up for us

...to that point, i'd never have bought a Clayton jersey lol

When they signed Flacco in 2008, I bought his jersey and gave my old McNair jersey to a mentally-challenged kid that hangs around Little Italy looking for odd jobs. He was such a nice kid and wore that jersey every game day for the whole season. I had no idea that McNair would be shot and killed by his girlfriend in 2009. What a tragedy.

I was talking to a teller at the bank today who was complaining that he just got his Heap jersey last year. I suggested he cut his risks and just get a Bisciotti jersey.

Dude, you're wrong and you simply wont admit it. In fact, Rices stats fell off at the end of the year, so you're 180 degrees on that one. Sorry.....

Edit - Any worse? The guy had over 1,200 yards with a porous oline! Wowee wow!
[/quote]

Well i guess your right, i finally looked up the stats and Rice lead on everything pretty much.

But all i know is i watch the RAVENS games every sunday ( i dont think i have missed 1 since 99') with my buddies, And they all know how much i Hated Willis getting the ball, im talking about i would start cusing when he was in the backfield because it was always him trying to tip toe or be elusive when he wasn't for neg. yardage or a fumble.(mainly the season before thats i remember is him constantly fumbling mainly on in big games or an important moment in the game).

My buddies always got a kick out of it because i would be fuming. Anyways for some reason i just Remember Willis M. getting yardage when Rice wasn't , I dunno stats dont lie. All im saying is i know what i remember and my buddies remember me saying it to and i don't drank so that cant be an excuse.

Whatever Im Wrong

Oh on a side note- I think its funny when i would just hope and pray they would cut him, they never did. But then when i really dont care, they do. Dont get me wrong , i still wanted him gone but when i finally gave up hope it happenned, just funny. And he certainly didnt deserve 6 million a yr to be a back up or 6 million to be a starter. Especailly when Rice i think is making bare min. salary, that might have changed recently though. Probably wrong on that too.

Didn't want to start a new thread just for this, but I think I am sold on this years jersey purchase!

Leach it is....I just love every press conference hes had so far and the fact that dude has 3 CAREER carries. He does the dirty work and I like that!!! That is all.

The way I see it, "It's being examined by top men... ...TOP MEN" [If you don't get the reference, what have you done with your life]. What my friend and I end up doing is storing them in the back of my closet, never to see the light of day again. I mean there are obvious exceptions for wearing after they retire, but that is normally left for hof players. You can still wear that Stover jersey, even though kickers aren't allowed in the hof for some reason.

Most of those jerseys are pretty worn out though before I retire them, Like Priest and Jamal.

Oh, I should also mention that my friend is a skins fan and he definitely has over a dozen jerseys he'll never wear again. lol The only exception being his Taylor jersey.

I have a large space bag full of jersys including my 'baby's' Sharpe--hes now a 6ft junior in hs- Its cool to see how they have changed. I may be in the market for a new one this year if I can't shrink my Reed, which will be HUGE on me this year.
The plan is to frame them when we re-do the basement.

I will still wear my jerseys, the trick for me is to wait until the weather turns a bit colder and wear a hoodie under it. I know it's a bit Bellichek, but the hood covers the name and living in Illinois most folks out here don't know anyway. Some don't even know the Bears numbers,LOL!?!

Im just curious. Not looking for advice, just wondering what you all do with old jerseys.

I mean, I will always wear my Reed, Lewis, and Ogden jerseys. But what will you all do with your McGahee, Heap, and Mason jerseys?

Will you wear them this year at all? Will you only wear them again once they retire? Will you use them to add that extra padding to the dog bed like you've been meaning to do?

Sound off!

EDIT: Me personally....I'll wear Heaps after he retires, I dont own a Mase, and McGahees is as good as recycled.

EDIT V 2.0 : You can select multiple answers but explain why, please

I have an authentic Heap jersey. Honestly I don't know of any fan that would not approve of the jersey.

Hopefully I can try to get it signed by the man and frame and hang it. We shall see.

I wear them around the house, in the yard, exercising etc. I won't be wearing them on game night or to games. Lewis, Suggs, Reed I will always wear those no matter what they have had to many years here.

My Heap replica jersey is the first Ravens jersey I ever bought, so I just can't get rid of it. However, I like the idea of keeping it stored away until the player retires and then wearing it again.

There's no way in hell I would just give away a Ravens jersey to someone, even if that player did piss me off. Though it does remind me of a story...

A friend of mine was taking her son to his first Ravens game (Ravens vs Redskins, Dec 20, 2008) and asked us for jerseys to wear. A mutual friend of ours responded and let her borrow his Kyle Boller jersey. I thought "Aw hell no, not him." and brought her my Heap jersey to wear while I wore my Flacco jersey to that game.

I don't buy jerseys. I have a ton of other gear, nice jacket and coat, hats, about 15 t-shirts, some long sleeve shirts, etc, all only with RAVENS emblazoned on them. I have thought about getting one in my own name, and I would consider getting a Ray Lewis, but I have no great desire to spend over $200 on a shirt.

Why in the world would you spend $200 on a jersey?

I wouldn't.
If I did get one, I wouldn't want it to be bought out of someones trunk though; I would want authentic. Maybe I'm so much of a jersey snob, I can't buy one, LOL.

95% of all stitched jerseys are fakes. I have 8 or 9 jerseys (4 hung in the basement and 4 or 5 I wear) and I would never buy a truly authentic one. No reason at all, in my opinion.
