We're not gonna pick up a starter. John said Birk will be our starter, so we might bring somebody in to back up, but that's about it. David Hale can play center a little, Yanda can if needed.

If we don't go for a rookie for a few weeks, then go out and sign Kreutz. We aren't getting Osi now. I still would like to see them make a move for Floyd or bring back Mason. Defense keeps it close but offense wins games.

Well cross goodwin off, he just signed a 3yr deal with the 49ers.

David Hale isn't even on our team anymore. We gave him an injury settlement last year before we cut him in PS. I think his NFL career is Kaput.

I was a David Hale fan.

I heard Birk is getting surgery , which blows my mind because why in the world would you wait until preseason to get this done when he knew about this.

This surgery should have been done the day after we Lost to the Stealers.

Im really really dumbfounded right now, it unreal???

Oh, didn't realize. Well, we should be able to find somebody to play during pre season. It's not like Birk would have played more than a couple quarters in the entire preseason anyway. And it's not like he needs playing time. He'll come in week 1 and be ready (hopefully).

Relax, he had an MRI yesterday and they probably decided he needed surgery.

Its minor, he's expected to be back week 1

I agree , when it comes to Rookie Centers, that to me is a no no. You have to know the D. your playing. And also i heard the Rookie centers arnt do a great job, dont get me wrong im hopefull for these guys to become great centers but not when we gotta play The Stealers week 1.

If we lose , thats gonna be a big blow to our morale.

Yea thats what i heard too, but you know as well as i do, this should have been taking care of months ago. This isnt a new injury, its a lingering one.

His knees been a problem, yes. That doesn't mean he needed the surgery 6 months ago...

Sorry my bad it was the former 49ers Centre Eric Heitmann. But I think he's pretty solid as well and he's one of the veterans that the Ravens are rumoured to be looking at to replace Birk now that Rabach failed his physical.
