Ya I think the tackling engine is a lot more realistic and nicer than last year's was. The main addition isn't in the gameplay as much, it's more of the features so it's tough to say until the game comes out. I think they need to totally revamp the kicking though, it's always been crappy and this year is no better.

Very impressed with the demo. Still some minor problems that I hope will be worked out for the final retail release, but otherwise, the gameplay and presentation has exceeded all of my expectations. The animation system is much-improved, the defensive AI appears to be much-improved, and the blocking is smarter.

There's still some clipping issues and I think the kicking meter needs to be tweaked. Also, I question whether some of the presentational cutscenes and celebratory animations will get repetitive and recycled too frequently. I've also seen some weird Gameflow logic; for instance, on 3rd & short with 30 seconds left in the game with the lead, rather than pick a run play, all three Gameflow options (Aggressive, Gameplan, and Conservative) gave me short pass plays.

Now that the gameplay appears to be up to snuff, the real test for me comes in the tweaks to Franchise Mode. I play Franchise Mode more than any other mode, so if I'm not pleased with the new features, then the game is virtually ruined for me.

I've already preordered the game, but that doesn't mean I'll be keeping the game if it disappoints me.

I preferred the analog stick method of kicking that NCAA still uses, as opposed to the antiquated kicking meter.

I'm not a fan! The view is weird and too overhead for me. The kicking meter is horrible and passing seems to mechanical.

my main thing was not included in any of the demos Franchise mode as it equates to commentary . I want to see how they pull off this hot/cold game to game commentary

LOL.. you all are basing your 'fanhood' of the game on one single demo?? Come on guys. You all know that the gameplay didn't have to change much for that part of it to be great, but the main thing for me is the game modes. If Franchise mode is as good as it sounds, then I'm definitely a 'fan' of it.

On the contrary, if you pop in Madden 09 and then put in Madden 11, you'd barely notice a difference in gameplay. There wasn't much of a quantum leap there. 08 to 09 (and arguably 09 to 10) were the last big leaps, but 10 to 11 was barely a difference. Madden 05 was the last true title that offered a significant difference in gameplay from the previous years. There's still lots of flaws in Madden, but that doesn't mean I won't play the games when they come out.

I understand it's difficult to innovate yearly, but if I'm expected to pay $60 for a game, I better get most of my money's worth. Sure, I might lower my expectations slightly because of the yearly cycle, but that doesn't mean I should get the same exact product I paid for the previous year. Otherwise, it just amounts to $60 for a one-year rental or subscription.

I actually don't mind the recycled gameplay to tell you the truth, but I'm one of a kind I guess. I love taking a team from the ditch to the moon in franchise mode, and playing with the Ravens. And I've heard franchise mode is expected to be excellent this year.

Camera indeed does look weird to me and I still don't know how this new kicking meter works. They're not deal breakers though. The game does play well overall.

I played it last night, I was impressed with the entrances, especially with the announcer sound, sounded pretty close to being at a real game. Also the way the players move is more fluid, you actually see moving hips instead of still bodies just pulling off 90 degree turn and go's. the way the recievers run routes looks really good too. Its gonna take a few minutes (or hours)to get used to the kicking, I like it though because its not as automatic as in past years, kind of a real life feel, the camera angle is awesome too. My only gripes are the players on the sideline still bug me. At least change up the numbers lol, shouldnt be having a skinny pale guy kneeling wearing #52....uhh? Also I hope they tweak the d-line (or o-line) a bit, I was getting off blocks too easy with players not named Peppers, Raji, or Matthews. Other than that Im sure I will be happy. Ide give it a 8/10 as of now, couple more weeks of touching up to do though.

The game's already finished and getting ready to be pressed and shipped. Usually, games are finished at least a month before release, and we're already 3 weeks away from release.

From what I've read, the demo is a majorly stripped-down version of the build made for E3 back in June. Features for the demo were stripped down so that the file size would meet Sony and Microsoft's standards for the average file size of demos.

they also said at E3 the Demo released in august would only be about 75% to spec of the completed game and thats before taking off the announcers

Demo was alright. I still have it on pre-order and will still get it on August 30th. I'm a Franchise Player so the demo won't effect me much since I'm really looking forward to playing with a updated Franchise Mode.

I liked the broadcast cam on the Field Goal, and the presentation of the Bears introduction. Can't wait to get the game and see everyone else's intro.

You can hot route but the pre-snap controls have changed and most (including hot routes) are activated by first clicking the right stick. It's annoying, having to re-teach myself these controls after it took me so long to get used to them the first time.

You can still do hot routes just like before, you just don't see a menu for them.

Also, the kick-offs are weird visually.

Can you change the view? I really can't stand it on offense.

Played the Xbox version..... MUCH BETTER! Better graphics, faster gameplay.

This coming from a PS3 GUY. Maybe Xbox just had a better demo...?

A good 90% of PS3 games (other then PS3 exclusives) are simply ported Xbox 360 games, and even run at a lower resolution then the 360 version does. like all the cods games, Madden, Fallout3, etc

Its easier for Console devs to develop on the 360 platform and just port over a ps3 copy that lacks in quality. it really sucks for ps3 users.

infact I think it was the first assassins creed for PS3 that displayed "Press Y" to do somthing, it was later fixed in a patch.

on a side note, i bet superstar is untouched for like, wut , the 7th year? lol

That makes a lot of sense. The PS3 version looked like an empty shell compared to XBOX. So, it's safe to say the full version on PS3 will be MUCH improved... RIGHT?I wonder why the PS3 can't be maximized? It clearly has the more stout hardware specs....

An industry report actually indicates it's down to about 75% now. And, of course, this only applies to multi-platform games. More and more developers are taking to developing on the PS3 prior to porting now that they understand the complex architecture of the PS3. The logic is that it's easier in the long haul to port down to the 360, than have to port up to the PS3 if there's a game that's graphically-intensive.

However, that also extends development time slightly, which leads to barely-missed deadlines and, often, small delays in shipping and release. There are still many publishers who don't believe in extending release windows and demand that games be made within the given time frame and no more than that, regardless of the quality of the final product.
