Just found this and it got me thinking about how so many of the AFC's normal powerhouses seem to be floundering out of the gate. First the Pats lose Brady, the Colts lose to the Bears, Vince Young is injured in the Titans win over the Jags, the Chargers lose to the Panthers. Pretty much the only AFC team that was in the playoffs last season that looked good were the Steelers. This could be a season of a bunch of formerly none playoff contenders making it to the playoffs, the Bills, Jets, Ravens, Texans, and some other unknowns could potentially shocked the the supposed "elite" of the AFC this year.

Now I'm in no way saying that this will happen for everyone or that its a guaranteed thing, but it just strikes me as interesting that some many of the favorites to represent the AFC in the playoffs have stumbled out of the gate against teams that were far worse competition.

Just some food for thought for you all.

I don't want to applaud this injury but this makes our chances for the playoffs a little bit better. Stinks for the Jags though, I really like there team

Yeah I know, I was routing for them last season to make something happen and losing guys to injury is never good (especially with their other OT getting injured in that shooting). I would never say its a good thing for those guys or any guy on another team to get injured (I'd rather we beat them at their best ;)), but injuries are a part of the game and if they go down I'm not opposed to the Ravens using it to get closer to the playoffs than they might have in another situation.

I know this sounds really cold, and I really do feel for these players, but there's just something about all of this that makes me think the stars are aligning so perfectly for me...

I won't get into what I mean again, but for those who've followed my comments on this message board, you guys know what I'm talking about.

(Hint: Flacco/Delaware/Ravens connection)

I think this will tell whether Garrard is the real deal. We'll see how he does with 2 offensive lineman missing and his running game struggling. Can't wait till be play them now, our defense should be all over them
