Bulger retired? I didn't hear about that. That's a real shame being as things were shaping up for a possible return.

IF Bulger retired, they definitely need to be shopping a vet for #2. I don't want us to rely on a rookie if (God forbid) Joe should get injured. Yes, I know Joe was a rookie and look how that worked out but that is a rare thing.

edit: Cannot find anything stating that he retired. Only an article that comments on him still remaining unsigned and that his career MIGHT be done.

Oh, well if that's the case then I'm not sure who it is. Tyrod could be that guy, but I don't know how well he would do. I like that he brings something new to the position though.

There isn't anyone worth paying the money for, I'd rather go with Taylor and save the cap space. We can afford to lose a few games for a minor injury to Flacco, if he's out for more than that the season is gone anyway.

I don't know how true the retirement is, but if it's not true, I see him back with the Ravens. I think at this point, he knows he won't start, and winning probably is more important then anything.

He won't be back for the type of money he had last year, but Ozzie will bring him back. imo.

I don't think the Ravens would make Tyrod the backup, but they very well could.

We might just go into the season with Flacco, Taylor and Cantwell.

I think Hunter and Tyrod will battle for that #2 spot during preseason. Having those to guys as backups doesn't really look too appealing, but lets be honest, without Bulger in the mix, if Joe goes down we're screwed anyway.

So why not allow both Taylor and Cantwell to stay on the Roster.

With little interest on the market I have a gut feeling that Mark will be back for another year backing up our boy Joe. I haven't found anything on him retiring either so he must be on the verge of a return.

Marc/Mark whatever..next time I guess I will just say Bulger. I actually forgot about his spelling of his first name until I seen your post but I'm glad I have a human spell check on the site! :P

Just name check....just find it very humorous when people misspell players names. Mark/Marc isn't too bad.

I don't normally misspell these guys' names but tbh I forgot he had a different spelling on his first. I too, have a thing for spelling and normally just smh at some of the members here due to their odd posts.

Whos it going to be? Im hearing Bulger retired

That's not good then. I don't think there are many options left on the market. So better hope Joe stays healthy. The good news is that there shouldn't be any 'Bench Joe' threads if Taylor and Cantwell are the only other options. Ah, who am I kidding?

i say Tyrod, he looks pretty good and i find was a steal in the draft, he has also been working with Vick for a while now, maybe the next Vick (without the whole jail time)

if Tyrod Taylor is our backup we all better pray that Joe never goes down to injury or the season is a loss

That's a little harsh. When Brady stepped in and one his first Super Bowl he was just a 3rd string 6th round pick.

Plus we could always sign someone off FA like Bulger

I could see Bulger leaving, plus I'd say he's too expensive to keep in that position. Tyrod could be our version of Vick...

You have a point, but really Brady and Taylor are totally different animals. Our offense is built around a pocket passer and sadly I don't think Tyrod would make a great back up at this point. I hope we can resign Bulger!

Bulger is the guy we need. As long as he is planning to play this season the longer this goes on the better it is for the Ravens. I doubt its about money for him anymore. Looking for right place, right system and chance to win a Super Bowl.

Come on MARC!!

I hope we can keep Bulger but realistically it will have to be an extremely cheap veteran or Tyrod and hope Joe doesn't get hurt for the first time in his career. With the salary cap the way it is I think a quality backup QB is a luxury we cannot afford.
