The Ravens have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with Pro Bowl fullback Vonta Leach, according to the former Houston Texan’s Twitter account.

“Will be a #Ravens this year,” Leach simply tweeted.

“I wanted to finish my career with the Texans, and I have mixed emotions about leaving, but I’m excited to get to Baltimore,” Leach told McClain.

“I understand this is business, and if they don’t have enough money to keep me, I understand that.  But I have to do what’s best for my family. I thought my career would end in Houston. I’ve come from the bottom to the top, and I want to thank everybody who helped me get to where I am today.”

Reports had placed Leach with the New York Giants, Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys, but the Ravens won the battle, apparently.

Leach was tabbed as the best pure-blocking fullback on the open market, a position the Ravens wanted to solidify with Le’Ron McClain seeking greener pastures as more of a ball-carrier.

Leach will join a position group that is currently headed by veteran Jason McKie.

Now I wonder what we'll do with McClain...maybe something similar to what we did when we had Lorenzo Neal, if we sign his back. This is great news, Ray Rice is going to have a huge season!

Signing Leach is a sign that McClain is gone, now McClain would have to take a "I want to play for the Ravens deal" to be brought back in. Can you do that McClain, we have a FB for you now.

This is a great signing. We will get back to the Raven way of football. We will run a lot this year, play great defence, and will be able to throw the ball because we have good, solid young receivers. Big year coming.

leach rice = best backfield in the league period

^lets make this happen and get mcclain back for cheap since he should be happy with being the #2 rb and getting the carries hes been waiting for.

The Ravens have moved on from McClain, unless he is left with no one really giving him the RB money he wants (which I fully expect to happen) we might bring him back, but I highly highly doubt it.

Vonta Leach is the best blocking fullback in the league. He is going to help Ray Rice and also help keep Flacco standing.
