i know hes not really the help we need, but it would be amazing to get him on the cheap, has fallen off a bit but i think could still be a solid player

Nah, I always thought this dude was over rated even when he was relevant. I think mcClain would beat him out in camp anyway; too much skrillah for a backup

Let's see...

Damaged, Overrated, can't stay healthy.

Redskins called dibs on this player.

-------Bowen-------Cofield------Carriker--------
---Kerrigan----Tatupu------Fletcher-----Orakpo--
---Hall-------Otogwe-------Landry------Wilson---

They have somewhat of a functional Defense mixed with young talents and overrated/overpaid veterans.

Eagles
[/quote]

That's a good landing spot too since the Eagles have Dan Snyder's wife controlling the team.

---Babin---Jenkins---Patterson---Cole---
------Fill-in---Tatupu------Fill-in-----

I think the Eagles should try to convince Manny Lawson to be their 4-3 OLB. Lawson has all the tools to succeed as a 4-3 OLB since he can cover, block, stuff, and everything else except getting the QB.

The Eagles have always looked for undersized, speedy LBs to run their 4-3, as well. Tatupu would fit in.

I've still seen nothing to refute the article I posted about Lawson's pressure in 2010, but given that the Eagles seem to favor speed at the OLB spots, he could be a decent fit.

With Jameel McClain sidelined, I could see some interest but I don't believe we would pull trigger.

The Seahawks reportedly approached Lofa Tatupu and asked him to take a paycut. He refused and asked that he be released. Seattle is allegedly granting Tatupu his wish, although reluctantly. I really feel that we could grab Tatupu for a lot cheaper than he is worth as a MLB to play next to Ray Lewis. It would also give us more time to find a true elite MLB to come out in the draft, as Tatupu could take over for Ray once Ray decides to retire. This really isn't needed, but I'm sure no one can doubt that this football team would be much better with Tatupu playing next to Lewis. Obviously, for this to happen, we would probably need a bit more cap room. I see the somewhat imminent Ngata deal freeing up some cap space for this coming year. Just a thought.

If he didn't just get Knee surgeries I would say so but I doubt we will go after him. Also this is all ready being discussed in the Other NFL Team section.

Not a bad idea at all in theory, but if we were gonna try that I'm guessing we would have made a run at Barrett Ruud, who would come in for relatively cheap and without the injury questions Lofa faces.

I was also thinking about other possibilities for MLB. Ray Lewis isn't going to be around forever, and thats a fact. Do you think we find the heir to Ray in free agency for the time being, or draft just the top MLB prospect in whichever year Ray decides to retire? I also feel like Nick Barnett would be a good addition. I understand MLB isn't exactly a need right now, but no doubt adding one of these two players would make the team much better, and would solidify the MLB position post-Lewis for some time.

Lofa still has alot left, Still a beast but this won't happen. He will not only command to much money but the ravens front office said they didn't really target any MLB in the draft because they viewed it as one of there positions of strength.

Well Barnett's out of the equation. And I understand why they consider MLB a position of strength, but the fact remains that we are "mediocre", "average", or even "weak" at MLB with every player after Ray Lewis. I'd love to have a playmaker at MLB once again, like Bart Scott was in his time here in Baltimore.

What about McClain and all the hard work he has put in? Move McClain to OLB and have Lofa slide to his former position?

Its the nature of the business. Hard work is almost irrelevant unless there are results. McClain is a good backer, not denying that. But he is not the "elite" talent that I would want to see become the heir to Ray Lewis.

I definetly think theyre gonna give it to McClain. Think of how good McClain is if Lewis wasnt on team... Hes not that bad

I'll pass on Lofa. Both knees just went under the knife, he's already slowing down, and I've always thought he was a tad bit overrated. I'd rather we play McClain, Ellerbe, and Gooden while we wait to draft Te'o next year.
