Braylon Edwards, lackluster as he was, is still better than Plaxico Burress.

Yep. Plex is a 34 year old who was out of football for two years. If people think he return right were he left off, they'd be kidding themselves. His age alone would suggest a decline.

I'd much rather have Edwards.

That's not to say Plex can't do something. But if I were the Jets fans, my expectations would be in check.

Definitely. I'm sure the Jets would've rather had Edwards return but he wanted big money.

But let's take account... what have the Jets done this offseason?

-ALMOST signed Asomugha - that should count for something
-Re-signed Holmes
-Watched Brad Smith go to a division rival
-Left Cromartie and Edwards hanging
-Watched some reserves go to other teams and let big-name vets walk

But I'll still read about 100 whiny comments in the blogs about how the Jets have so vastly improved.

It's a nice signing... if he wasn't 34 and haven't been out of football for 2 years.

I was hoping he would have went back to the Giants.

Now the Jets have nothing opposite of Holmes, and their defensive line is shaky, we(and every other team) just got our game plan to beat the Jets. Run the ball, Run the ball, Run the ball, and if you keep Holmes in check, Jets offense is nothing since they have nothing opposite of Holmes.

Double Holmes with Chris Carr and Ed Reed to see if Sanchez has the balls to throw that direction. Jimmy Smith should give a tight window because he can clearly run with a slow 34 year old man.

And we always had Shonn Greene's number. Usually slow RBs don't do very well against the Ravens.

Against their defense, just run the ball because they got nobody to be afraid of in their D-line.
