Anyone Kinda Wish That We Didnt....

Anyone kinda wish that we didnt have to play the Stealers til maybe week 3, so maybe our rooks would have a bit more exp. and to see where our players stand.

I just feel if we lose against the Stealers week 1, it would be a big blow to the confidence of the players.

I personally am not feeling as confident right now but hey who knows , its still early and we have time. I just dont think i can deal with another loss against the Stealers on the first game of the season.

The good thing is we do have home field advantage.

Also Heap always played well against the Stealers, he was a good blocker too.

yeah me either but beating the steelers is nice and it never gets old

their team has flaws too, lets remember their O-line hasnt gotten any better since last season, their DB situation isnt that great either...other than Ike Taylor after that the talent drops off big time

their defense is getting older too, ppl dont mention that for some reason, its always how the Ravens defense is a year older, check their ages out..guys like James Farrior

You got me, I don't understand it either. By now, it's pretty clear how useless those guys are. I guarantee there are other players we could bring in and try out for the same price who could perform as good or better.

Jah Reid certainly has the size to be successful, I think he could perform well enough week 1. Oher stepped up two seasons ago and was an absolute beast for us as a rookie, there's no reason one of our guys right now couldn't do the same thing. Yes, it's unfortunate that whoever is starting will be in a trial by fire week 1, but it's a challenge we can manage.

Agree 100%. I think a lot of the young guys are going to have a big impact this year and they might as well start it against the rivals!

Ofcourse. I break stuff because of the Steelers. But we can't fear them. Confidence. We are playing them in our house, our guys are healthy and we are going to bring the pain. And you best believe its going to be a great game.

have you forgotten the LT? Oher is going to get pushed around and penalized by refs. I think out of 16 games, he only missed 2 where he was not penalized. Matter of fact, I think he made NFL record making the most penalty lol..

True. The Vets must instill the Steelers rivalry with our young players minds right away. No better time then to throw them into the fire Game 1. Baptise them to have this hatred forever. No Fear.

Man dont remind me, i think everyone except the Ravens staff realizes Oher needs to be on the right side. He went to the pro bowl being RT. Oher and his false starts got me fuming , i remember i would start counting them and calling it before the play.

The irony here is that Oher wasn't committing a penalty most of the time. He's the quickest tackle in the league off the snap.

He wasn't anywhere near as good on the left as he was on the right, but that's not related to his penalties.

Of course not, its a harder position and it was his first whole year there. These things take time. Not many LTs come in from day one and dont make mistakes(penalties,giving up sack,whatever else). He frustrated the hell out of me to but its growing pains, happens with most young players.

yeah at the beginning of the season everyone was amazed at how quick he got off the ball, the it seemed like the refs started calling it against him somewhere in there

The fact of the matter is, LT needs to be addressed this season if Oher isnt the answer. I didn't hear anything about Oher in past offseason, whether he has been in training solo or whether he just chilled and sat on his butt all night. I can only hope he prepared himself for this season. James Harrison/Troy are going to push Oher to the limit in week 1. Last thing we need is Flacco gets sacked like a doll in first week of football.

But all i remember is hearing from the Ravens staff is we are building are team to beat the Stealers. News flash, i really havnt seen any building except for a few things that i think were a step backwards.
