Former Packers Dt Cullen Jenkins Now A...eagle

23 posts in this topic

Title says it all. Cullen Jenkins has signed with the Eagles on a 5 year, $25 million deal. The Eagles are definitely trying to win it all this year. They are the closest the NFL has come to a team buying their way to a championship lol. Seriously don't even know how they have this much money...

Whats funny about the eagles is they are spending all this cash and have yet to address their OL, which was probably their weakest area.

Looks to be a 4-3 DT for them... was the best 3-4 DE on the market. Andy Reid's last stand?
This is going to be his 13th Year as Head Coach and so maybe he is trying to make his 13th year be Lucky 13.

Now with this signing, the Eagles really are going for it all..... wait, since when did Dan Snyder inherit the Eagles?

I really don't understand how one team can handle so many big named contracts. They still have to give Vick and DeSean extensions and they have Babin, Jenkins, Nmamdi, and Asante with some pretty hefty contracts already. Wow is all I have to say!

Yeah and I can tell you, since DeSean wants a new contract, and he sees all the money they are throwing around, and especially when none is coming his way, he probably isn't happy. Eagles are creating another TO situation, this time Eagles are screwing themselves.

Like I said, they improved the defense as security for when the offensive line fails and Vick goes down for the year.

In actually reality all of the moves the Eagles have made have been smart ones. The Redskins just sign duds.

You are probably right on. I would think that they would have to make a move or two to free some space up and use those picks to bring in some youth through the draft.

Eagles are going all in for a Super Bowl. Where did they get the money or cap space cap to spend?

Jason Babin
Nnamdi Asomugha
Dominique Rodgers Cromartie
Cullen Jenkins
Michael Vick
Donald Lee
Johnnie Lee Higgins
Vince Young

DeSean should be upset that the team spent so much money.

It looks like the Jets have a mirror image in the NFC.

It's funny you say that actually. I have long considered the Ravens and Eagles to be mirror images of each other. This, however, may change my thinking.

Remember, Eagles have released several veterans or traded them over the past couple years to have this cap space.

The Eagles are the Miami Heat of the NFL!

Wow. That defense is going to be scary but like Fly said, how in the hell are they not going to put money toward that line and toward their best receiver? Makes no sense.

Well like I said in my last post that they needed to off-load some talent and they did i guess in trading Bunkley to the browns for a 5th, according to Shefter. I think that they are still going to make a few more small moves like this but maybe instead of draft picks they look for a LB to help that awful group they have.

Someone should tell the Eagles they dont have any LBs
Funny you say that cause I seen a tweet from Cromartie last night calling out the Green and White and their LBers that were useless in coverage, but the thing was I didn't know if he was talking about the Eagles or the Jets..LOL!

And a Offensive Line, which will be tested early on, they play the Rams week 1 but I bet Robert Quinn will be ready to dominate along with Chris Long, Atlanta just added Ray Edwards opposite of John Abraham, as for the Giants they better hope the Giants defense doesn't go on the QB killing spree they had where they took out like 5 QBs in 4 weeks last season lol.

They also play Chicago where Peppers will be ready to pounce on that weak offensive line so Vick has a good shot of going down, hell we might even take care of that for them in Week 1 of the Pre-season. Ngata, Cody, Redding taking up their weak offensive line, while Ray and our LBs chase Vick.

It looks to be that way. It seems like it will either be an amazing year or something just doesn't go right and it goes down in flames. And Reid gets Das Boot. Well I think he has a two year window.

Not sure if I can post a link to another site but it currently shows the Eagles $8.7 million under the cap before trading Bunkley, or so that's How I interpreted it. Although it lists Nnamdi and Babin's cap numbers as estimates currently. That also includes Vick's cap hit at $15.975 million, which I'm sure the cap hit will be less if they can sign him long term and get away from the franchise tag.

Does Bunkley have the athleticism to play 3-4 DE? it'll be interesting to see how they try to use him. It looks like they're trying to copy how we use Ngata and use him as a weakside DE.

Looks like Bunkley torpedoed the trade to Cleveland and got himself traded to Denver. Can't blame him though, nobody wants to be in a division with us and the Steelers.
