Update: Chris Carr Re-Signed

81 posts in this topic

With the resigning of Carr, there's nothing to worry about in our secondary. Depending on the exact numbers of the contract, we might have overpaid him, and I wouldn't have given him a 4-year deal, but still this move makes our team better. Carr provides quality depth if someone goes down, can start in the nickel, and is a good team guy.

I feel much better now. I actually prefer Carr to Wilson. I think they are pretty equal talent wise but Carr is definitely more versatile.

This is a pretty short topic and I am not sure how many people are going to get upset when I say this...Am I the only one who isn't upset about letting Josh Wilson go?

When I say that just know that if we didn't bring back Carr or weren't just generally stacked at CB(in my opinion anyways) then I would have loved for him to come back. I like Josh Wilson and hope he has a good rest of his career but it seems there are so many people acting like we just lost the main piece to our SB puzzle. Maybe I am just hungover and not thinking clearly!

Anyways its good to be back around fellow Ravens fans and I hope everyone is doing alright!

Wilson was a good CB, and we will for ever be indebted to him for winning in OT for us, but i think that one play made him a much better CB in the fans eyes, im excited to see our young CB's come up and dominate.

How does this get merged into a thread about Cris Carr resigning?
Lol...I was watching the Josh Wilson thread like hmmm maybe it just got deleted! Either way it wasn't really important just saw a lot of people complaining about not keeping wilson. I like Josh and he played well for us last year but I like Carr more :).

Big oops. Using the mobile app and sometimes the itty-bitty boxes get mis-touched.

do we still keep foxworth? Part of me thinks we cut him and then go into next offseason with a lot of dead weight off the books and act as a major player in FA or the trade market

Nah. Foxy will play his contract out, and we'll take it from there depending on how he performs (my opinion).

Anyone know the terms of Carr's contract?

And the folks at ESPN have him listed on the complete FA list as having signed with the 'Skins.

That's news to us, people!

And on the CBS tracker they have had Chris Carr's picture up for Corey Graham (CB Bears) for the past few days.

Corey Graham

Pretty sure that's Carr's picture from NFL.com

I assume it's going to be around Josh Wilson's range after he chose to sign with us when he knew other places offered him bigger contracts and starting role.

Looks like $4 years and approximately $10M per Aaron Wilson. Great signing by Ozzie if that is the case - probably leaves another $500K more than I thought would be available depending on how cap friendly it is. Now we just have to re-up Ngata and get Foxworth to restructure so we can add some depth to this team.

Let's bring back Mason & Bulger ... some a combination of vets to fill backup running back, linebacker/pass rusher and offensive tackle. I think Ozzie will go bargin shopping soon with those vet exemptions that barely count against the cap. Would be nice to get a guy like Ricky Williams to add some experience and depth.

RavensInsider Aaron Wilson
@ @jrob1020 Four years, heard it's in $10 million range.

See how alot of people are happy over this, considering Carr was our scapegoat much of his tenure here.I for one am happy he has returned.Decent CB and PR.now let's hope when he gets those good returns they aren't brought back by boneheaded penalties like in the past
