I hated Carr's play two years ago but this past season he impressed me and getting him back is a good thing. Welcome back Chris!

Excellent news, I am now very confident with our secondary this season.

I sure feel a lot better about it too. Carr is a known quantity, familiar with the system, and a quality player. I think this is actually the year Webb becomes elite at his position. I think "the Jimmy" will take more time but in 2-3 years its a shutdown secondary with that pair.

To everyone who was bummed out that we lost Wilson. I agree that Wilson is more talented. However, Carr is much more versatile and therefore more valuable.

Carr can play pretty much any position in the secondary, CB, nickel, and even safety. With Landry leaving we don't necessarily need to sign a 4th safety now. Carr can be the emergency safety if need be.

I also love Carr as our nickel. He played great starting for us last year but the way he handled Wes Welker was awesome. I love this guy!

Carr has continued to grow and get better since his first year (of which I was yelling through my TV at him often)

2 years ago, if you had told me I would be glad they resigned him, I would have said you were crazy. But here it is. I'm all good with it.

Welcome back CC, and thanks.

Excellent, now we're basicallly set at DB. Just sign an OLB and maybe a cheap tackle or bring back Heap and/or Mason and we're done!

Solid move, now a offense can spread us out 4 wide and I see no glaring weaknesses in any of our top 4 corners. Great news in a passers league

I remember Josh Wilson stepping up to guard the other teams' best receivers. I don't remember Chris Carr doing that...

Absolutely thrilled with the news that Chris is coming back. His tweet stated he was "very excited to finish his career here".

Excited with the prospect of Webb, Carr and Jimmy Smith at CB.

Schefter is reporting that it's a 4 year deal.
Wow, 4 years. I was expecting a 2 year deal. Still to solidify our CB position is great. I have to say, for the first time under John Harbaugh, we will have solid depth at Corner(I still remember 2008 where we used 3rd stringers in the Championship game)

He better not get anywhere close to Josh Wilson's contract numbers! If he does, then this is absolutely ridiculous.

well Wilson got a 3 year deal, Carr got a 4 year deal..so we'll see...

Actually he did do that, i'm not sure how often but I remember him playing a pretty big role in our defense. you can be in denial about that if you want to...

Carr adds depth which is what we need

Our DB Corps:

Chris Carr
Domonique Foxworth
Jimmy Smith
Ladarius Webb
Chykie Brown
Cary Williams

Six is about right on how many DBs teams usually carry.

I assume Jimmy Smith will cover the big receivers, Chris Carr will prove he can cover top options, while Foxworth covers whatever is left.

Foxworth needs a paycut.

Doubt it.

I expect Jimmy and Foxworth to start.
