We Did Have One Of The Easiest Schedules But.....

We Did Have One of The Easiest Schedules But the teams that we were going to play this yr are looking pretty Stacked now with all the new Players they got, im starting to think that are Schedule is going to be harder than planned.

Has anyone else thought or realized this. Any Inputs???

I know we got a good team but now the other teams are starting to look good too if not better.

The Eagles are going to be the team to beat in the NFC now. We play them in the Preseason but man i dont think i would want to play them during the season, but if we do then that means we are playing them in the (dare i say it) Super Bowl.

Well chalk up 2 wins against the Bengals, the Browns have done nothing to impress me so 2 wins against them. At least one against the Steelers. The NFC west is looking pretty weak still. Colts havent really done anything, Jets have gotten a little weaker imo. The Titans and Jaguars? I dont see it.

Schedules are always harder than planned and I neva by into the strength of schedule stuff these days, maybe back in the day but not now. Anyway, the Cards got Kolb and the Hawks got Rice and that's about it so I would say a lot harder and the Eagles don't count, preseason game.

I only see Houston as getting significantly better
[/quote]

Joseph is good but the rest of their d is still just as horrible as before. And the bengals have gotten significantly worse

Disagree, picking up Manning and Joseph is going to be huge for their secondary.

They upgraded their D a lot through the draft as well: JJ Watt, Brooks Reed, and Brandon Harris. Plus they will be getting a full season of Cushing and Ryans should be coming back from injury. Their Offense is still going to be potent as well.

Look, The Ravens are still the best team. No matter who we face we have a huge chance of winning. And when we play Eagles in superbowl it will be easy to stop vick which is the key to their offense

Plus every team got better at the draft also. So us having one of easiest schedule, only means little

Games aren't won on paper and with names. None of these guys have even taken the field yet and you're already labeling them possibility better then the Ravens.

More importantly we(The Ravens) haven't even had a true practice with pads yet.

People always associate big names with upgrading your team, but it doesn't always have to work that way. I hear many fans talking about how we aren't getting better while everyone else is.

Well who's to say that Jimmy Smith doesn't make us better? Who's to say that Webb doesn't continue to develop as a CB. Who's to say that either Zibby or Nakamura won't turn out to be just as good if not better then Landry? Who's to say that Kindle won't be a beast.

Who's to say that Flacco doesn't take off this year with Boldin, Dickson, Pitta, Smith and the other guys.

Who's to say that David Reed won't be a younger, fast, and more big play potential version of Mason?

We don't know any of these things of course, but the Ravens coaches have a pretty good idea, because they've spent the entire lockout watching film of this team.

It's too early to worry about how we will be some team way down on our schedule. The only team that should be on the minds of the Ravens, other then themselves is the Steelers. The NFL is one game at a time.

Why so serious?

I jest. You are right though, looking ahead to matchups at this point is an exercise in futility. Lots of things can change anyway. I was simply pointing out that on paper at least Houston looks to be much improved. They had the league's worst secondary and they addressed it.

I fully believe the Ravens are going to be one of the best teams in the league and it doesnt matter what teams we are going to play. We have proven over the years that we give every team a run for their money win or lose.

I dont think Zibby is better than D.Landry. Zibby plays good coverage but doesnt play the ball , he plays the player which is safe but you really wont see any interceptions from Zibby.

Keep in mind all these times signing new players have minimal time to get aclimated to the new systems. Teams that retain much of their core from last year are going to do well. (colts, steelers, pats, ravens).

This is a very weird year and spending a ton on F/a' is not going to make Carolina or Seattle a good team.

Yea I agree they have gotten better, but they are also putting in a new defensive scheme, that many of their guys have never played in. So that could effect them a lot.

To be fair, Landry only had one interception last season, and that was in the playoff blowout at KC. He and Zibby each had less picks in 2010 than 2009 (zero for each of them in the r. season), but if you're trying to say that Landry gets more interceptions of the two, I can't say I agree.

One thing that I do give Landry the edge in, and I've said this before, is being a vocal leader. However, he's certainly not a better tackler than Zibby. We've all been suspect of Landry's tackling since at least 2009, and tackling is a basic fundamental.

Every year the schedule looks easy or it looks hard, you cant really predict what the schedule will be like or how teams will play until you get to the game and play it. No use speculating on what teams will rise or fall because its impossible

I'd worry about the Chargers. We play them late, but regardless, I have a feeling they will be on a tear this season.

And you got that based off of what, 4-5 spot starts he's had over 3 years. The point I was making is we just don't know.

When Landry went down early in the 2008 season, not many, if any, people though little Jimmy Leonhard would come in and replace him so well. By the end of the season, half the people on this board though the Ravens made the biggest mistake in franchise history by letting Leonhard go to NY with Rex.

So there is no way of saying Zibby or Nakamura won't be as good as Landry. Because we just haven't seen those guys extensively.

Well its hard to get much worse right? I think they are much improved, but we will have to wait and see. Personally I dont think they will ever get far with Kubiak as their HC.

What amazes me is watching a lot of people pick the same exact teams to succed or fail over and over again. Mainly analysts. Sometimes I wonder if "experts" just don't have the balls to think outside the box on TV. I've learned over the last few years that every single season in the NFL is different. I've learned to pick different teams year in and year out.

What im really trying to say is, i dont care too much for either of them, to me they both havnt done anything really impressive. We did cut Hardy (safety,i think thats his name) last yr and he went to the Colts and he really didnt get a chance to do anything. I think we cut him to make room for a player that was coming off the pup list, it might have been Reed, Im not sure.
