Yeah. I figured we'd see more opinions. A little surprising.

haha looks like we got our first opinion. Although its not overly clear, I'd say he's agreeing with me. ed.s52

Yes. If we were arguing whether Asante would be a good CB for the Ravens, and not which team would be more likely to acquire his services. Derp lol

Just know that if Asante comes with the Ravens, I'm replying to you with some trash talk on this thread. And if he goes to the Niners, I'll log off for a week or two and hope your forget about this.........

As selfish as it sounds, if there's any reason I wish to see Asante stay away from Baltimore, it's exactly that lol Don't worry. I'll take my lumps proudly. Not like I'd have much to complain about.

Well, I'd think like a good amount of this fan base you'd be most concerned with the contract, but for a top 5 corner like Samuel I could see us squeezing 5 mil under the cap, plus tell me this doesnt look meant to be.

(couldn't get him in 22 cuz apparently their is some copywright law, and also apparently these image extensions can't be used on this board)

I see the 49ers being completely out of the Samuel sweepstakes after signing Rogers. We both called Carlos Rogers as being as a serious target for San Fransisco. Personally, I feel like it would've been smarter move to sign Brandon Carr given his age, if they are going for a youth movement, but Carlos should service as a solid starter as well.

Yea, we both got that one. But personally I think Carr would be more coveted and therefore harder to acquire for the 49ers. Plus, if Rogers works on his hands he could be a big time corner imo.

Also, another thing to note, if we do trade for Osi the chances of us trading for Samuel are basically done. Personally, I'd rather have Samuel especailly because he would fit the system better and I'm looking forward to seeing if Kindle can be a premier pass rusher/OLB but if we got Osi instead of Asante I wouldn't complain.

Or maybe we could get both and squeeze them both under the cap in the perfect world.

I agree on both sentiments. Don't think there was much of a market for Rogers, so he was a bargain pick. Kansas City would've likely fought for Carr.

Don't worry about Osi. He's apparently been taken off the market, as his price was incredibly steep, that being a 1st round pick. Not worth it, in my opinion.

The league is all about being a playmaker these days. If you can't make plays, or shut down the reciever, you aren't nearly as coveted.

Really, whew. Don't get me wrong I'd love Osi on the team, but I just think it'd be a little to risky for us, and Asante would be better to pursue. The conflicting reports about the price being dropeed and the price not being dropped kinda made me wonder what would happen with him.

Correct.

I'd like to have him as a talent. However, I'm not a fan of his personality. He's turning 30 this year, and is enterining his 9th season. He's also a bit of an up-and-down player. Thrives one year and struggles the next. Now obviously that's not the most relevant indication of how he will perform in 2011, but with those questions in mind, parting with a 1st round pick and a large sum of money doesn't seem too sensible.

I don't think anyone would've given up a first.

Here's to hoping Kindle racks up more sacks than Osi will ever, and Asante and Reed have a battle the whole year to see who will be the Raven's interception leader.
