I'm thinking of the Eagles moving Asante to safety position, but his size (5'10 185 lbs) might be the issue. He needs to add on 15 more pounds to be even considered.

Funny thing is DRC is 6'2 and 185 lbs. That guy is a stick. Since he has issue tackling, just run the basically his direction with Anquan Boldin blocking him.

Right now Gaither is the best LT still available. If Oakland doesn't sign him by next week, I'd make him and incentive filled offer. Put him where he plays best at LT and move Oher to RT. Keep Flacco upright, and open some running lanes. Add a good blocking fullback. Sign Carr if we can or pick up one of the other 2nd tier CB's still available, and resign Mase or bring in Floyd for a look see. Q can handle the down and in, Dickson can handle the 15 yard middle patterns, we need a down and out guy, and we use Smith or Doss as our fly guy. We can pick up a RB in a week or so, or use one of the ones we have to back up Rice. Oz will put the pieces in place, now it's up to the co-ordinators to let them play, and not hold them back.

Signing Asomugha doesn't negate the fact that they're now carrying the two worst run defenders in the NFL in the form of Asante Samuel and DRC.

Assuming they're on the field for the majority of snaps you're effectively playing against 9 defenders when running the ball and the Eagles aren't exactly an elite run defense to begin with.

Babin and Cole I think will compliment eachother and make run defense better. Plus Nnamdi will always be out and he can tackle

Cole is a monster, but Babin isn't going to help their run D. And according to PFF, Asomugha misses a fair amount of tackles as well.

Don't know how you guys are so anti-Asante. Dude is the 3rd best corner in the league (taking that from NFL Top 100 voted by players). Asante, Fox, Smith, Webb, and Carr looks like a elite core (and personally I could see Foxworth or Carr being part of the trade for Asante) so assuming we wouldnt give up something crazy it'd be a dream to have this guy.

Samuel is a great off-coverage CB and play-maker, but he's not the third-best CB in the league.

I'm with you. I'm not at all against Asante. As much of gambler as he is, I still consider him a higher tier CB. However, there are other CBs I hold in front of him. Like Brandon Flowers, for example.

I'd rather have Brandon Flowers because of the youth but talent wise I'd take Asante every day. He may not seem like the 3rd best corner in the league, but I for one can't think of 3 better corners. Outside of Aso and Revis I don't think anyone is better.

Maybe it's a personal preference, but I'd still prefer Flowers, more-so because he's a complete player. He's able to throw off his opponents' routes with his ability in press coverage, lock down the opposing WR, and be a viable asset in run support. Asante is obviously the better ball hawk, and in terms of pure coverage, Samuel is easily among the best in the league. I just feel like him being a liability in other areas makes me favor Flowers over him.

But, no matter who you think is better Asante Samuels is actually pursuable, and would give us an elite corner
