I'm definitely eating a whole lot of crow right now.

He has become a key part of the offense, and a solid number 2. He's the perfect compliment for Q. I wonder if he has number 1 WR potential. Only time will tell.

He's definitely a great complement for whoever lines up opposite him, and he provides a very dangerous threat that would get number 1 recognition (i.e. getting double coverage)

I dont know how anyone can say they don't think he can be a #1. Ya he needs to work on his hands, but he is a rookie and has alot if time to work on that. With this kids attitude and work ethic, I can see him developing into a #1.

I just don't see Torrey as a number 1 receiver since he doesn't have great hands. Nicks is a bad example, Kenny Britt would be perfect for our offense. Or Vincent jackson, a big sure handed receiver who can get downfield and beat man.

So true. you know Torrey has already surpassed Nicks rookie season stats.

I look at it like Desean Jackson... Explosive and Dangerous but he is not really a number one but the guy is explosive and do what he does well... Jackson is not making that tough catch over the middle... Thats not his game... Maclin is the guy that makes those important 3rd and 5 catahces.

Thats why Philly dont know what to pay Jackson... They know he is not a #1 WR really but in their system he puts up those type numbers with his speed

Personally I think Torrey is a little more well rounded than Desean as a WR. Torrey has made a few nice catches over the middle.

He does need a little work with his hands. No problem, that will come in time. That can be learned and improved upon.
Have him eat a few bananas before each game to help with the cramps.
He is a keeper and a starter no question.

Torrey has much better size then Desean! He can most certainly be a number one in a spread offense. If we were to switch to something more wide open he would be no different the Greg Jennings. I think he has the skill set to do whatever the league requires of him.

I would like us to get a big guy like Floyd or Vincent though in an effort to improve our vertical game further and support Smith's growth

Torrey is also all the more reason why we need to upgrade this OL (particularly LT). He will need time for his deep routes to develop, and it would be nice if Flacco actually had time to set his feet before launching a deep ball.
