Hopefully, we get SOMEBODY. I'm not expecting Nnamdi at all. Just SOMEBODY who can make a difference right away.

Carlos Rodgers is a horrible CB, might as keep Fabian Washington......No hands, and has gotten burned his entire career....
[/quote]

He possibly has the worst hands of any CB in the NFL

Why would we let Wilson walk for 4 mil per year to sign Cromartie for 8-10 per year??? Might as well sign Nnmadi if we are going to spend that kind of money....

@stixfix69 haha yea except if we were to sign nnamdi it would have to for $16-20M Per Year, and pshhh antonio cromartie has a bad attitude anyway why would we want him in purple

If the plan is J.smith being our shutdown CB,that everyone has been saying since the day we drafted him, and with Webb emerging as our other starting CB, i think it would be wise to sign a solid CB, that can give us 2-3 years of solid play, so we can give J.smith the chance to prov himself......Thats why i thought Wilson would have been a great signing, because if he was under contract, and if J.smith proved his worth, he would have given us trade value next year, or even the year after......JMO.....

yea i was sayin that to some kid yesterday if we just let jimmy smith start off the bat i dont think he would emerge as good as having a mentor to show him the ropes like wilson. But man imagine what smith would take away from the game if we had nnamdi asomugha, he would learn so much and it would be awesome because they both have that physical pure cover corner type of game. Maan talk about jimmy smith the nnamdi asomugha prodegy

@purple nd Black.....I agree, there isn't a lot out there, either studs wanting 10 mil, or slouches....But i do think if Clements fell in between that, because of his age, he could give us a good 1-2 years of service.....Thats why seeing Wilson go for a song in the CB world stings......

It's like our FO really doesn't care right now. I really don't understand... We either need to bring in J.J, Chromartie, I wouldn'y mind Clements either. But were letting them all get signed. We haven't even talked to anyone, exept our own that i've heard...

I am pretty anxious to see some of the UDFA we signed, we did get a lot of talented players.....And Mana Silva could be a gem, a SS at 6'1 210, that runs a 4.4 can be scary if he can play at this level.....

No to worried about Oz reaching out to players, i am sure he has, but a lot depends on what Nnmadi does, he is setting the bar for the top CB's......Other position players, he has to compete with teams that have the cap space to sign the top players......His UFA, FA, and cap casualty is no doubt full of a ton of different scenarios....He just can't look at this year, he has to see how the contracts he hands out will affect our over the next few years.....

Sergio, I wish you a Ravens career at the end of which this whole injury madness will be nothing but a small, distant bad memory that took place before a multiple-Pro Bowl and SB winning career.

Man... do you really think they don't care? That they just sit back and relax?

O, ye of little faith...

I don't think we really need a CB. I can tell that Webb has worked hard this summer and I feel he should be ready to start. Foxworth, assuming we keep him, can hold down the fort untill Smith is ready to be the other starter, then Smith and Webb will have the constant compotitian of who is guarding the number 1 receiver. With Foxworth and Brown holding the nickel and dime corner spots, and maybe Cary Williams as the fifth. So unless we get Asomugha I don't feel like we should go after a corner.

First let me say problems with computer and net for all them postings. problem sovled. second i stand by what i said can u stand their and say that we don't need help at pass rusher i saw the games from last year we had little to no pass rush and it was inconstant at best.and our secondary had trouble all year we do need a pass rusher a DE that can push from the outside and a cover corner till Jimmy Smith can get up to speed.

I would think that 4 PM is looming as a fairly significant point in time in this process. That is when cuts become official and when teams will likely start going after a lot of the guys that are officially released. It also will likely be around the same time that a couple of the key signings will happen that will cause dominoes to fall.

That being said, the one main thing that is troubling me is - not that we haven't made a bunch of FA signings - but that we haven't dealt with Ngata's 12.5M hit to the 2011 cap. I thought for sure we'd have that issue in the rear view at least 24 hours ago so we know what room we have to work with.

Not a peep anywhere on that topic.
