Week 1: Cincinnati Bengals At Baltimore Ravens

Yeah, M&T was rocking today. I think the engineers need to check the foundations for any cracks. Nice job 12th Man!! I wish I could have been there to add even more noise! Although, my voice would be completely gone, as opposed to mostly gone, which it is at the moment ;)

Yeah we did, I was amazed at how lame your defense looked: 0 sacks, 0 picks

Not to mention that our rookie QB out played your Pro-Bowl QB, the Bengals defense is exactly who we thought they were. :D

Love your quote. Nice touch.
I was just telling my friend, the Ravens Season ticket-holder connection, about how most people would've used Palmer in their Fantasy Leagues today over Flacco and are now kicking themselves.

And to repeat the part of the quote I love, "the Bengals D is who we thought they were"! Lovin' it! B) :D

I like that Coach Harbaugh declared the game ball to go to the team for one hell of a team effort, with our Key Efforts going to our D, Joe Flacco, McClain/Rice, the O-line and most of all the playcalling on offense Cam Cameron. He called a great game and the offense responded to it and you could tell the difference. Great game today..let's keep this thig rolling!!

I don't think we could put the Bengals in their place (at the bottom of the division) better than by making them have to read all their unfounded smacktalk now after being humbled . . . hehe maybe make them eat crow?

I was at the game (10 rows away from the field!), and I have NEVER experienced anything quite like that before.

My voice is almost completely gone and I have massive sunburn on my face (with bad tanlines from my sunglasses), but it was all worth it.

You have NO IDEA how ecstatic I was when Flacco scored that 30+ yard run for a TD...I teared up from it because of all the "Let's Go Flacco" chants, which I DID NOT expect at all!

It reminded me of the games at Delaware last year when Flacco was under center. He thrives off of pressure, and he showed what he could do when given an opportunity. He may not have put up spectacular stats, but for a rookie QB, taking ZERO sacks and throwing ZERO picks is more than enough for his debut.

Today was simply AMAZING, and it was almost as if the football gods had aligned everything so PERFECTLY for me...

Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football will be Joe Flacco's national coming-out party -- I can see it now. I won't go so far as to say a trip to Tampa is on the way for this team, but I can definitely see a better season than a lot of people (myself included) expected.

Yes, this was just ONE game; but everything has to start somewhere, and Flacco's path to being the QB that Baltimore has been starving for, started today.

Great game but I just hope Harbaugh keeps it that way and doesn''t do a "Billick"

Doing "A Billick" is when you're so arrogant and smug and players who "couldn't play" week one because of various lame excuses, are inserted in week two beause "Im Brian B" and I know all and run all ...

In other words, Willis, "I Made Me Millions" McGahee needs to just sit and be a second string running back till we can cut him and tell him to get lost ..

Todd " I Can't Hold The Ball Without Fumbling Heap" needs to sit as a second string and then retire ....

There's a few more that need to JUST LEAVE, I'll name them later ...

Thanks!

For the record, some dude from Delaware who called himself "Franchise" called into WBAL Radio (1090AM) this afternoon after the game...

...that WASN'T me. I'm not an older, middle-aged white dude who was a Baltimore Colts fan since the '70s...lol.

I should've called in to set the record straight that I'M the only Franchise 'round these parts...but my voice was too hoarse, and now it's almost completely gone. :)

How about you JUST LEAVE. We are Ravens fans, we love Todd Heap. Take your super-clever nicknames and direct them at someone else's team on someone else's board. We don't need or want your negativity here. We want McGahee to play well, and we know what type of player Todd Heap is when he is 100%. He hasn't been playing much football lately, and we all know why why. Apparently you don't. Apparently you were spending all of your time making up all those really hilarious nicknames instead of reading up about the boys, and watching the preseason game.

McGahee is the best back we have. I am so sick of having to type out that sentence to Ravens fans. Every time Rice does anything on a football field, even if it is run for less than 4 yards a carry and fumble the ball while we were driving, leading to a CIN defensive TD, while not scoring himself all day, people start calling for McGahee's locker to be cleaned. Anyone who thinks that knows nothing about our Ravens.

Todd had a bad day. Doesn't make him a bad player. IMO; week 4 should see Heap back in midseason form.

P.S. Glad to hear you had fun Franchise, I am jealous. But you will be the jealous one come Nov. 16th when I watch our boys beat the Super Bowl champs in New Jersey. Never been to a road game before, but there is nothing quite like M&T when the Ravens are playing well. Again, glad you had a good time.

LOL, thanks.

True, true, I COULD be the jealous one on November 16th...

But for ME, nothing beats being in OUR HOUSE, with beautiful weather for the season opener, against a divisional rival, with my quarterback starting under center, and playing much better than people expected. :)

I still get goosebumps, thinking about how deafening those "Let's Go Flacco" chants were...

But, if the Ravens are playoff contenders at that point in time, and the Giants still have a winning record, I could definitely see myself being jealous...but in a good way. ;)

I was at the game too, with my black Flacco jersey I bought yesterday. I was sitting at the very top in the endzone lol so I am veryyy sunburnt...I feel your pain Franchise! I almost teared up when Flacco ran for that tuchdown, and could not stop smiling when everyone chanted "Let's go Flacco!" I would have loved to see the look on his face when he heard that, and he knew he was now accepted by all of the fans. Even after the game was over and everyone was leaving, people kept coming up to me and yelling "Go Flacco!" It was such an amazing game to be a part of. (Except for the misfortune of Heap, but we wont go there) The future of this team looks bright. Thanks Harbaugh for making our dream of an offence a reality. LETS GO FLACCO!!!!!!

Oh and by the way, major props to the O-line today....NO SACKS PEOPLE!!! Amazing! (is this the fist time in Ravens history this has happened?)

I saw the look on his face. He was smiling when (I think) Lorenzo Neal was teasing him about it, and probably blushed a little. I think his smile got bigger when he saw he was the one of the "Player(s) of the Game" on the Smartvision board (at least I think that's why his picture & stats were up).

I can't wait to see/hear the reaction from everyone on campus tomorrow about the game...I bet all those Flacco jerseys in the UD Bookstore are gonna be sold out! :D

Lol thats awesome. I lead a few of the chants later in the game, but none were as impressive as the first one. Yea if they arent sold out, the price will probably go up a bit!

Speaking of Figurs... that totally wasn't a block in the back (it was clearly from the side, but the ref that threw the flag was at an awful angle). He should have had that TD

Yeah, to those of you at the game, you rock! I don't think I've ever heard a chant like that on a TV broadcast. It wasn't like the cameras were on the crowd with a close-up... The noise was so THUNDEROUS, it was making it to and through the booths and cameras.

My wife and I were watching the game and I said, "Can you hear that? I think... Wow!" and she started along with them, "Let's go Flacco?" and we both realized that was what the chant was. Amazing. The first time I've ever seen something like that come through a TV set so well (outside of a movie of course).

I can't ever remember the crowd chanting "Let's go (Insert any other QB here)!" I watched the game on NFL Sunday Ticket, and the chant was clear as day.

Maryland1 I saw one of the birds with his trainer--got a great picture of it--but he was still on his leash, looked very calm and not bothered by all the noise, fireworks and all that stuff. It actually looks bigger then the first pre-season game if thats possible.

First CAREER START, AND first CAREER WIN!. Btw ppl i think STOVER NEEDS MORE PRACTICE..... he had me FRIGGIN NERVOUS ALL GAME since we are such a FG team.. after missing that FG SO BAD.. and then inside the 15 he barely made it.. i had a HUGE headache after the game.
