[Blogs] Reports: Ravens Agree With Torrey, Doss, Taylor

The Ravens have locked in their two rookie wide receivers and quarterback, as multiple reports state they reached agreements with second-rounder Torrey Smith, fourth-rounder Tandon Doss and sixth-rounder Tyrod Taylor.

With Baltimore’s first training camp practice scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m., that would mean the rookies would be on the field.

The Ravens have not confirmed the agreements, although Smith told media on Wednesday that he expected expeditious negotiations.

While the Ravens do not comment on the length of deals, reports have set Smith’s at four years. The lengths of the others have not been reported.

The news would mean the Ravens have signed three of eight rookies. Those remaining are first-round cornerback Jimmy Smith, third-round tackle Jah Reid, fifth-rounders Chykie Brown and Pernell McPhee and seventh-rounder Anthony Allen.

Look, I know Torrey had 12 td's, hes a mature leader for his age and a college graduate, which says alot, but I just dont the "burner" speed that everyone else does and without that, lets face it, we are not looking at much of an improvement in our passing game unless the brass thinks Joe willcome into his own DIRECTING young WR's and not just playing with vets like Mase & Heap....I dont know

According to the new CBA, all drafted players receive 4 year contracts, with 1st round picks getting a club option for a 5th year. So all of these players will have 4 year deals.

Can we all relax and show some love for the front office? I have not been worried at all, the only thing I have been a little upset about is that we lost Josh Wilson. Obviously the Ravens brass has something planned, so everyone just take it easy. We waited four months for the lockout to end, now we can wait two-three days for the Ravens plans to pan out. At least we are hearing about football right???

Well the obvious answer is "just wait". I guess the Ravens are hoping the best will just fall into their laps. Waiting got Wilson an agreement with the Redskins, oh yeah Stallworth as well.

Yes insult our FO that is going to get things moving a lot faster. Oh and last year didnt we get Josh wilson for next to nothing and yet nobody complained when we got him. Turned out to be a hell of a football player too, who knew ozzie was so good at his job..... Oh that is right all the people who were patient and just watched him do what HE not anybody in here does best. Just sayin

Sadly I heard yanda might be our fa splash...hearing we don't have much to play with even after cutting our vets...that we will probably have to start looking at mid grade guys to fill our needs. I feel like were going backwards this year, I don't like it one bit! :(

Ok how many of these rookies do you believe will just waltz right in and lock down their position, and excell at it? With that said, I'm happy they are getting their rookies taken care of, but these rookies are not going to get done in their first year, what the Ravens are shooting for.
