Sunday QB

Are We Going After Anybody?

169 posts in this topic

I'm starting to get a little bit worried right now.

You see, we lost Mason,Heap, Gregg,Josh Wilson, McGahee, Chris Chester. Probably gonna lose Landry or Carr.

Then, we re-signed Marshal Yanda and a bunch of UDFA and Rookies.

What then? Did We re-signed Ngata?

I'm getting concerned now cause a lot of teams are re-signing and trading and signing great players.

Mason is so old he can draw Social Security, Heap is injury prone and has under-performed for a number of seasons, Gregg is old and growing more ineffective, and McGahee was overpaid and old. Wilson would be the slot corner on this team at best, and Chris Chester is absolute garbage. Both were paid way too much by the Redskins for their services. None of these losses is noteworthy, and Mase will probably be brought back at a more reasonable rate to give us another veteran receiver. Why people are freaking out about losing our AARP members doesn't make any sense to me. There comes a point to see what your young guns like Dickson can do, and the Patriots history over the past few years gives us a perfect example of how to do this. Dropping these guys was necessary to free up some cap space, and we took a page out of the master's playbook by dropping unneeded and overpaid vets.

Ozzie is a slow GM, show some patience. I guarantee something will happen tomorrow.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling!! Oh, wait a minute. Sorry it's just an acorn. Old dude joke. Just let Ozzie do what Ozzie does so well. Some teams are not cutting some players yet hoping they can get something for them. It's a high stakes, big money, poker game and Ozzie's too smart to show his hand!

nicely said. Oz could be a badass pokerplayer.

I'm almost ready to believe that we will come up out of nowhere and sign Nnamdi. Though I like what Houston did, which was not overpay and instead get a talented CB in Joseph for significantly less. If I were Oz I'd lean that way too

calm down everyone theres alot of superstars to go around, and with this current salary cap situation i think there will be alot more than what we think. we all knew the ochos and haynesworths are gonna make the news but if you really look at all the big names that are being aquired right now half of them are not half of what they were a few years ago. Big names dont necessarily win Superbowls

Now that Nnamdi is officially an Eagle, there is a good chance DRC or more likely Asante Samuel (who is the better corner but doesn't have the benefit of youth) are now expendable to the Eagles. One of them should be a big target for Ozzie, because even if Asante wouldn't agree to a salary reduction he is considered the 3rd best corner in the league (based on the fact that the players voted him the only corner besides Nnamdi and Revis worthy of the Top 100). Personally, I'd love to grab him unless the Eagles persist on having the league's best CB core (which in reality they do with or without Samuel/DRC).

Personally, I find it funny how the Eagles went from having Dmitri Patterson be their 2nd CB to having THE best tandem in the league with 2 of the 3 best corners in the league and another Pro-Bowl Caliber one.

You Really think they'd give up DRC that quick? He was the most valuable piece in the kolb deal. Forget the 2nd round pick. DRC is a stud.

This. They will dump samuels and give the money to djax. Would be a nive fit for the ravens but who knows about the money. Samuels and jimmy sure would be a nice combo. Maybe they would trade for foxy and a pick. Foxworth would make a hell of a nickle, something asanti is way too valuable for

I just read some of this article which seems to indicate we have pretty much no cap room to work with. I'm not sure I completely understand, but it also seems to indicate that the Jets are probably screwed in the near future.
