Ramon Harewood, or Jah Reid we don't need to sign anyone....Go Ravens!!!
You'd be fully comfortable with either of them going against Woodley and company in Week 1?

I sure hope so. We still need a pass rusher and a right tackle. Yanda was signed to be a guard. Reid needs to learn the NFL before he is ready. It wouldn't hurt to bring in a seasoned, tall receiver to off-set Boldin, until Jones is ready. I still don't know if we need a CB or FB yet. I think Allen has alot of potential and so does the undrafted kid from Miami. Go young, but go smart too.

It seems like the Ravens, and most other teams with the exception of the Panthers, are waiting to see where Nnamdi goes, and then a possible frenzy may begin.
Honestly, I've wasted a large part of my day waiting to hear what happens...

Fair enough. We'll see if the front office shares your optimism.

If we stay the way we are. As much as it pains me to say, but we might have to go Cousins at RT in week 1. That or we can go with our trusty Oher,Grubbs,Birk,Chester,Yanda routine that worked so brilliantly last year.

But I would hope that we try to use some of the young guys as the season progresses. See what you have on the actual game field.

I'll answer that, if you first tell me who is better between Fitz and Berrian.
You're comparing an elite WR like Fitz and a 4th round noboody like Berrian. No comparison...Fitzgerald

the thought scares me.

However, I think we should consider playing Reid at RG for a few weeks while he becomes acclimated to the NFL.

It's important to note that, since nothing can be signed and made official until Friday for veteran free agents, all of these agreements are verbal agreements and there's always the possibility that an announced deal could fall through. It's unlikely that there'll be last-minute changes of heart since it's bad for business on both sides, but it could still happen.

The only deals that can officially be inked right now are teams and their own free agents, drafted rookies, and undrafted rookie free agents. Trades can be consummated but teams are unlikely to make them official until after Friday in the event that they decide to pursue a released player at the last minute. The exception to the latter appears to be the McNabb-to-Vikings deal, though there's several conflicting reports on the finality of the transaction.

Jah Reid won't have many problems in the run game, but I'm slightly concerned about his pass blocking. Sure, he absolutely destroyed Houston, but that was college. On the other hand, Yanda was also a third round OL, and he started all 16 games as a RT in his rookie year. Who's to say Jah can't do the same? Anythings possible.

Reid AND Harewood against JUST Woodley, i would be fairly confident. But beside that fact we probably are starting Yanda...

to answer your question, I'd rather have Marshall. But those two are so close in talent, that scheme and need would be more of a determining factor than anything else.

Now my point regarding Fitz vs Berrian is simply that you CAN compare two WR, even if they do have opposing styles of play.

I think it's going to be Boldin and T. Smith on opening day. He has 3 tools, speed, good hands, and height, that makes him the likely starter. Now, a lot could happen between now and then, but we need to use our money wisely to get a pass rusher and a right tackle. Reid is not going to be ready for the speed of the game coming out of a second tier program.

I've been saying all week that we won't know for sure until Friday night. I trust that Ozzie will make the right moves for us to ensure that we can still retain Rice, Flacco, and Ngata. Last minute changes of heart, like the one that the Bears pulled on us in the draft?

I've been on the T. Smith bandwagon for the past 2 years. He can light them up in the open field. He may not be Fitzgerald yet (BK commerical guy), but he will be a star in the NFL. I can't complain about Jimmy Smith in the 1st round at all, but as a Terps fan, I was cheering when they signed Torrey.

Is T. Smith as good as everyone's making him out to be? I hope, since everyone here is pretty much a Terp's fan and I have never followed them, that hes not being overrated just because everyone's biased on here. I hope that's not the reason.. Do you guys think he can be a reliable #2 receiver if we don't go after a WR in FA?

OF COURSE we're going to make big moves in Free agency.

After we sign Ngata to a long term deal and knock his 1st year salary down to $5-6 million and after we sign our rookies and RFA's...we'll be sitting at $94-$95 million or $25-$26 million UNDER THE CAP!!!

We're going to get some great value in these next couple of days I'm telling you right now. Mark it down!! The Ravens have been going over and over and over this scenario since April. They have Plan A, Plan B, Plan C...Plan Z...Plan A-2..Plan...Z-3...

Wait until the other teams have to release players just to squeeze under the cap. It's gonna be a giant Free Agent buffet for Ozzie and crew. We're going to get Nnamdi I'm telling you THE TRUTH. Ozzie and decosta are absolutely in love with Asomugha and the fact that they have an opportunity to make him a Raven is a no brainer.

But people are sleeping on players like Cullen Jenkins...in the 3-4 how would you block Ngata as a DE, Cody as NT, and Jenkins as the other DE?!? Total HAVOC...(if Jenkins can stay on the field)

RT Tyson Clabo who is a big mauler type Tackle who can help our run game immediately.

Maybe Mathias Kiwanuka if everything with his neck turns out to be ok. He would be an absolute force in our system coming off the edge with his hand in the dirt OR standing up.

Vonta Leach who would destroy LB's and open up monster lanes for Ray Rice to get jiggy in.

LeRon McClain to be the power back to compliment Rice on short yardage (with the ocmbo of Leach or Lawrence Vickers)

and we don't know what other big names will be released from now till the end of camp to the end of preseason...

All I know is come the 1st game we're gonna have a crazy *** squad dominating the entire year. Scribe these words in Platinum and Gold: SUPER...BOWL

I'm telling you, cut Redding, get more cap money, sign free agents. I am not a hater, but he is a veteran, and underperforming like Mason, and Heap. He would probaly clear up enough cap room to at least get one of those two back or a year. Or maybe get another DE, like Ellis, who is old, super bowl hungry and shouldn't be too expensive. Better than Redding

Throwing WRs and TEs into the fire is one thing. If Redding was cut, the only players who would step into his place are Kruger, Jones, and McPhee.

Redding has to stay.
