Spoke with Haruki at Ben Grubb's charity softball game about a month ago. Said he wants to compete for the SS spot and he definitly put on some muscle mass. I like his ability to cover one on one as well. It'll be interesting to see who gets the spot between him and Zibs.

If Landry leaves and Zbi earns that starting spot I don't see much of a drop off in play at all. In fact I could see the pass defense getting a little better. Although Landry is a very good player against the run and it would be nice to keep him.

The Jags are planning to offer Dawan a lot of $$$ I doubt he returns to Baltimore.

I agree that Dawan is an anchor back there, and I'd prefer not to lose him, but I think Zibby would be a competent starting SS. Though, I'd like to know your reasoning as to why Dawan is [i]clearly[/i] better than Zibby. Imo, the only thing Dawan has over Zibby is his abilities as a box safety. Zibby is just as good as if not better than Landry as far as coverage goes.

Your point about Zibby being a FS is irrelevant, Reed was a SS before being moved to FS. In addition, Zibby has played a little bit of SS for us.

In the run, Landry is better.
In coverage, Zibby is better.
As a leader, Landry is better.
Their about the same in ability imo, but Landry ha smore experience, and his ability as a runstopper has great value

Landry will go to the Jags. He's the consolation prize now that Weddle has agreed to terms.

Is it just me, or is that Weddle contract kind of ridiculous? I mean he's a good player, but 8M a year for a guy who isn't really a huge playmaker is surprising.

Its not ridiculous, its ridonkulous. He's not even a top 5 safety in the league. Sure Troy P is keeping tabs.
