Just came across this on PFT and Rotoworld.... Carson Palmer has yet to file his retirement papers!

http://profootballta...cially-retired/

Palmer could still show up close to the season and force Mike Brown into a decision, since all contracts are guaranteed after week 1, Palmer can force Mike Brown to cut him or pay him the $11 Million he is due. The only problem here is that even if that happens, most teams are set at who is starting at QB so Palmer could be screwed either way.
Yes, but teams like the Raiders - with Jason Campbell, Trent Edwards and Kyle Boller would certainly welcome Palmer - even though he's not the QB he was 5 years ago. Look at the Skins, choosing between Rex Grossman and John Beck. Seattle gets Tavaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst.

I'd take Palmer out of any of that group...

Carson Palmer should show up and screw the Bengals into forcing their hand. After that, the Ravens can just sign him to a 1 year vet minimum to just hold the clipboard, while resting his body. Then he can go out and try out for a job next season. Kill two birds with one stone, by screwing the Bengals and getting a veteran Back-up QB.

And also simultaneously upsetting every Bengals fan in the country...all 500 of them. He seriously should show up, though. Worst that can happen is he gets paid to sit on the bench.

Here's something more interesting. Palmer showed up to Cincy and had a talk with Mike Brown and apparently the Bengals have discussed a Palmer return. So who here thinks Palmer could end up still being traded despite this being so close to the regular season.

That's what I was thinking. Except it would be a fight for many teams to get him. Pete would end up with him signing for atleast 5 million without a doubt.

If I were Carson, I would just sit the bench and donate most of the money to charity. Keep quiet Carson, there's free money to be getting!!!

Or he's coming back to play for the Bengals. Dalton needs a ton of time. I wouldn't mind Carson coming back because I have AJ Green in my money league. And the Bengals still suck and they wouldn't be much a threat still.

Damn! Guilty! Usually I don't go down that route. I still know how to draw the line. Unlike some. I think. Who knows?

Either way I've always liked Palmer. I love AJ green. Hate pretty much everything else about the Bengals.

I read that during the Draft the Atlanta Falcons tried moving up to # 4 to take AJ Green. They offered the exact offer Cleveland accepted to the Bengals, and the Bengals stupidly turned down acquiring more picks(1st, 2nd, 4th, 1st and 4th in 2012) and stayed put. That folks is why the Bengals are the Bengals, any other team would have took the bait and got more picks. Link below, but we could be talking about AJ Green in a Falcons Uniform if the Bengals actually were smart enough to accept the trade.

Regarding Palmer, I can see it as a possibility of him playing for the Bengals again. So would this mean Palmer is starting to cave in to Mike Brown?

Julio is cool. AJ is awesome. AJ on the Falcons just wouldn't be fair.

LOL Carson pulling a fast one.
Updating a previous item, the Cincinnati Bengals met with QB Carson Palmer, and he may return to the team next week.
Huddle Up: It's a leverage play probably recommended by his agent. As John Clayton said, Palmer has purposely not field his retirement papers and is trying to "plant" his $11.5 million salary on the cap by reporting, hoping they will trade or release him. Bad blood in Cincy.
Somehow I feel like he only retired because he knew there was nowhere for him to go.
He retired because he felt he WOULD get trade inquiries, but Mike Brown said no sir!

Sawhawks are covered with Tarvaris and Whitehurst? Skins have Grossman who almost missed out on the starting job to Beck, once the Ravens 3rd string QB? The Jaguars could use the veteran presence of Palmer to help them develop Gabbert..

Yeah... Palmer is ten times the QB the people above are. Even now..

Grossman is a great QB, certainly better than Palmer. I forgot the new Seahawks QBs name, but I saw him play and he is better than palmer. The Jags will not be good no matter what QB they get because there are too many other flaws. Therefore they are irreleveant.

Okay, I am done here if you truly believe what was mentioned above.  Kind of a lost cause for me to continue!

Yes I do. You will just have to wait and see. Stats dont mean everything. Palmer couldnt tach Gabbert anything.
I guess I am not done... You really think Grossman is a "great" QB? And the guys name you're looking for while supporting your side of this debate is Hasslebeck (thats a freebie for ya). Palmer is better than every name you've mentioned. I am not saying he's even good, but he is better.

Yes. Grossman has some talent, regardless of his age. Hasselbeck is not the one I was looking for. He isnt with the 'hawks anymore. I was thinking Travaris Jackson. I guess we will have to disagree because I havent seen any part of Palmer that is better than Grossman.

"Has some talent" is not "great". Yea, I was mistaken on the Hasslebeck part (forgot hes in Tenn now), but it actually helps me in this argument since T Jax is horrible. To each their own though...

I guess it helps us that hes gone, in that I feel he is a better QB than who they have to choose from now. Anytime an AFC opponent downgrades, I am all for it. I wouldn't mind seeing Garrard as our backup actually.
