What does one have to do with the other?

All of those guys are different, they have different styles, and will probably be used differently for the Ravens.

It has nothing to do with a "story". Everybody has a story. Ray Lewis' college roommate was buried on draft day. How did he work out for us. Je Lew's son died while we were in the middle of a playoff run back in 2000, how did that work out of us. Ed Reed had to go out and play a playoff game with a heavy heart last year, how did that work out.

Mark Herzlich will be added to this team because he has a talent that Ozzie, Harbs and others like. He'll be given a chance to showcase that talent, his story won't mean anything other then something for the media to talk about.

Hey, I hope you're right. I just don't see this guy being able to hang in the NFL. We'll see though.

That's fair enough. There are 32 teams, well 31 now who feel like you because he wasn't drafted.

He'll have a lot of hype surrounding him because of his story, but strip away all of that, and the guy is exactly what we look for in our players.

Being able to sit and learn from Ray Lewis will be great for him.

I belive he broke his wrist last season, so look for him to be placed on IR this year and possibly given a chance to compete next year.

Herzlich was the prize, I'm so glad we picked him up. Gives us depth and a developmental player at the LB spot who has great football skills and, assuming his recovery continues, will be a very solid player. This was truly a great signing by Ozzie.

Missing out of McDaniel sucks, but Deunta Williams is still available.

Kirkpatrick is going to the Colts, according to the sidebar. That's one Center off the possibilities list.

Damn you Colts. Please get Kris O'Dowd Ozzie!

Edit: Wow. Delaware QB Pat Devlin is now a Arizona Cardinal.

Looks like O'Dowd will be joining Devlin in Arizona

Belichick is working his magic again with his signing of Cedric Thornton. Thornton is a 3-4 DE who could be a solid contributor, and he definitely has a chance to develop working with the best coach in the business. People sometimes forget Belichick made his name working with defense, and he was very hands on with his young squad last season.

EDIT: O'Dowd is gone, best center left is Barnes from Mizzou I believe. There's still hope.

Hold out hope that we will get him tomorrow. The Ravens are a good fit for Herzlich, and it's not like they announced he'll sign with someone else. The fact of the matter is none of these players are really a done deal until they're actually signed up for a contract.

Good Point T3h. This isn't official until the contracts are signed so let's hope O'Dowd or Kirkpatrick aren't done deals.

Look on the bright side, If Mark has truly made his mind up yet, the same might be the case for guys like O'Dowd and others.

I think after 10am tomorrow a lot of things will be more clear. Including comments about Mason, Heap, etc.

Give me some Herzlich too. I think I just saw a tweet that we got Herzlich... Ray Lewis will take him under his wings and make him a successor we can all be proud of...

Thornton was signed by the Eagles. Or at least the site that i'm staying updated on is reporting that.

We got Mark Herzlich.

Herzlich (the only UDFA that I am just conveniently following atm) said on twitter that he has not signed with a team.

I just read the same thing. I was very excited until I saw his tweet. Hard to not get caught up in it all. We've waited so long!

Not trying to be a debbie downer but apparently Herzlich is denying the deal with the Ravens. He says that he has not yet made his decision and that we will all know where he goes tomorrow. Hopefully this is all just formalities and that he isn't going somewhere else!

You're right. The guy who posted it in the sidebar was called NEDraft or something and I wasn't paying attention.

Justin Boren, OL from Ohio State, has been linked to the Ravens. What do we know about this guy?

Herzlich (if we do sign him) would be amazing on the Ravens. Perfect fit. If he can return to form before his cancer, I think he can be Ray's successor

Meet Justin Boren, Ohio State

Justin Boren

Biography: Michigan transfer awarded all-Conference honors the past two seasons. Started 13 games at center as a true sophomore with the Wolverines in 2007.

Positives: "One-time highly rated prospect who never improved on the dominance he once displayed. Blocks with terrific fundamentals, stays square, and anchors at the point of attack. Displays terrific awareness and blocking vision and keeps his head on a swivel. Plays with a nasty attitude and hits several defenders during a single play. Keeps his feet moving throughout the action, jolts defenders at the point of attack, and blocks with leverage."

Negatives: Occasionally late setting his hands. Rarely finishes blocks and lacks balance.

Analysis: Boren looked like a top center prospect as a sophomore with Michigan then showed signs of potential at guard after transferring to Ohio State. He comes off a very disappointing senior campaign and is likely to fall out of the draft.

Projection: 7th
