Thanks.

Mason isn't better than Boldin though.

He makes the tougher grabs and the must have catch, so im not sure why not. No prob on the plus one, I can admit when im wrong.

Q couldn't pull in the most important ball thrown his way last season, but he frequently left his feet and contorted his body to make catches all season long.

I'm not minimizing what Mason does, but so many of his catches are on curls, comebacks and outs. He does it beautifully, but I still think Q makes more difficult grabs.

How much money would Rice roughly cost?
We don't have a ton of cap space, especially after we sign Ngata, and it seems like Wilson is going for the best deal he can get

It looks like we won't be able to afford that

Well, Ray Lewis and Ed reed will be gone, so that'll probably be 12 million off the cap.

Also his contract number and his Cap number aren't the same thing, so we can make it work.

I'm pretty sure Ray Rice will not be let go, but fitting his and Joe's contracts may be a headache.

We're going to need a true #1 WR if we don't land Asomugha and the Jets do, which is a very real possibility now...

I've been saying that all week we should try and get Rice after hearing the release of Mason. That would cheer me up if that were to happen. If we dont get him which im having doubts then lets get
Steve Smith.

Derrick Mason has made the toughest catches all season on this team. The must have grabs are in his favor also. Where Q has had nice games, Mason has had a good season. I don't wanna hear how he lines up against the number one corner on the other team, because that is not the case. When the Ravens need a catch they know the ball is going to Mase just wish that Housh throw, would have went to Mase.

If Mase had a good season, so did Q.

Where was Mason in the divisional playoff game when the Ravens needed big catches?

Santonio who was considered a better acquisition was about that much wasn't he? Also, he has no injury concerns like Sidney Rice. My thought is no more than 40M over 5 yrs. Even that will be too much for us especially for a WR. We have more important positions to fill right now such as a DE or shoring up the O-Line...

I dont see Rice getting a fat contract like that, I won't be surprised if it is around the same as Boldin's contract, he will get around 7 mill a year.

Waiting for his QB to look his way, and then throw to him on time when he's open...

And all this "Mason makes easier catches..." nonsense can be thrown out. Perhaps Mason's catches look "easier" because he runs better routes, and gets open. I'm actually hoping Mason goes to another team, and shows you what you obviously don't know. Clayton showed a glimpse of what you didn't know about him... until he got injured(which we all knew). But imagine if Mason goes to St. Louis. You'll be kicking yourselves from Week 1 forward, wishing the Ravens kept him.

I would like Mason back and would like to have Rice, but if I had to choose between the two I'd choose Rice, he's still very young.

Perhaps you need to read posts better, and watch more games. Outside of curls, comebacks, outs, and the occasional slant, Mason simply doesn't run many routes. I don't need to complement him on his route running because it's obviously great. But that doesn't mean those routes don't lend themselves to easier completions.

In my opinion, Q makes, and is still more capable of making tougher grabs. If you disagree, fair enough. But don't dismiss it as "nonsense", and then produce squat evidence to prove your point.

i don´t now what you earn but 7mill is pretty fat for me-lol

i don´t think we see any big name free agent coming to the ravens. it´s just not how we build our team...

Since when does who the Jets sign in FA dictate what we have to do? I'm all about beating Rex, but that doesn't mean we have to go out and sign a big name WR. If they do end up breaking the bank for Nnamdi there will still be holes on that team.

If Mason doesn't return for a final season, I personally would like to see us make a play at someone established to come in and be consistent. Regardless of how high the expectations are of these rookies, they have some serious disadvantages as well. Mainly the fact they have a fraction of the time to get prepared with the team. They'll need to lose the training wheels FAST and produce alongside Boldin and considering who we play week one.....I dont think it's a stupid move to bring in someone with a couple years under the belt. Not old, just a WR acclimated to the NFL level.

Ok, Sidney Rice is nice. Hopefully, he can regain his form from the Favre days. I had him on my fantasy team that year and he helped me get all the way to the playoffs. I doubt that we will be able to outbid the Vikings or the Seahawks for him. I'd put my money on Torrey Smith being the big wideout on opening day. He really impressed me at UMD.
