[Blogs] Reports: Mason Will Be Released

303 posts in this topic

I hear the argument about Mase being a warrior and I agree completely. Trouble is, he couldn't get open when the DBs were tough, when we faced the Steelers and similar tough secondaries. At 37, he's not going to get any faster o rmore elusive. It's been a great run and I'm nervous thinking about Flacco losing an old steady, but that's business. As far as Heap leaving, I'll wait to see before I vent.

didnt expect mason to be goin but im comfortable with our talent at the wideout position. mcgahee i expected to go in order to keep mcclain who want more touches at hb. but todd heap did not expect that one at all i mean dickson and pitta are both solid but still didnt expect heap to go craziness!!

Torrey Smith, Tandon Doss all I can say is, time to step up. Rice, Oher, Flacco all had good rookie years. Your turn. Oh and Ed Dickson, the spotlight is on you too now. Ravens 2K11, let's go!!!

tj got thrown the ball 10 times and donte was on the field for 2 games mason is slow old and he fought with our qb three times last about not getting the ball he can only run comebacks and is the most predictable wr i have ever seen i personally would love to have someone like steve smith or vincent jackson then keep this loud mouthed old man on our team im more then happy to see him go

this move doesnt hurt me as much as letting Heap go. Im a true raven and i love Mason like a brother but i do belive this is the best move for the TEAM. mason and boldin are both possesion recivers. u need recivers the compliment each other. and if u watch the games what is the only route that mason catches. the 10yrd out. now letting heap go is risky. we play the in a very physical divison that requires your tightend to be a solid blocker. did any one see what happened when dickson and pitta tried to block. belive me it wasnt pretty. im not saying that dickson and pitta cant do it and i pray they make me eat these words but HEEEEEEEAP was a solid blocker and pass catcher

Mason though?

I'm not sure if they will, and if they do I'm not sure if I support it.. I've been a big fan of Mason ever since I started watching football and cheering for the Ravens. Can't imagine 'em without him.. But I guess we'll see.

We all knew the Ravens would have to get younger on both sides of the ball. I hate losing Heap he was one of my Favorite players ever, no matter what happens I will always consider him A RAVEN.

I think they are making cap room for yanda because if the reports are true the redskins want him they throw all their money at someone and ravens really need to try to keep him.

Think about those three gettin nasty ed reed backin them up cmon who would throw the ball againts them exept joe flacco who would get even nastier playing againts that in practice all day!?

@1defense, that is true what your saying, Boldin really is gonna be our future for the next 3-4 years and he DOES have to get fluid with Flacco...good point man!!!!

Are you kidding me? Derrick Mason? Todd Heap, fine he's hurt 87.5% of the season, Willis is behind Ray taking up a bunch of space, Kelly Gregg is almost irrelevant and we have Terrence Cody. But why Derrick? Imagine Torrey Smith, Boldin, with Derrick Mason in the slot. Outstanding. How will be beat Pittsburgh with out D-Mason and Heap? Derrick Mason was a Steeler killer. Unbelievable.

Attention Ozzy and Harbaugh, if you cut Mason I got two words for ya... Suck it and I have more. This man has played hurt for you, been the ONLY consistent target for our lousy QBs. We as fans and the players I'm sure have been proud to be in no way like the patriots. This stinks like a move that they would do. Give the man one more year to get his ring, he has earned it!!
