I doubt we would cut Heap just to go after another FA TE. Dickson and Pitta are basically our future after Heap. If he's not resigned, Expect Pitta and Dickson at TE.
I personally would like to see Dickson & Pitta do well and one of them show they can be our future Tight End but hey I'm just throwing it out there as a possibility.

Like I said, Gregg, and McGahee I agree with but if Heap isn't brought back than I'm going to question the move similar to when we cut Stover.

Heaps not being cut. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

ESPN said it live too

Ed Dickson's gonna be great, guys. Trust me on this one.
I completely agree, but I am not convinced he is there quite yet. Heap was still very productive last season so its kind of a shock that he is on his way out. I would have liked to see Dickson and Pitta eased into the Offense this year with Heap seeing a decrease in playing time. I guess we can just hope they can step up immediately.

I can understand McGahee being cut, I can understand Kelly Gregg being cut but Heap is a cut I don't understand. I could understand even Foxworth being cut, but this is just one bad call considering Dickson & Pitta aren't ready.
Really? How bad would that look if after Foxy spent all offseason working towards ending the lockout his teams says "oh hey uhh your cut, great job fixing the lockout though!"

back to topic, reaallllly hope we don't cut HEAAAPPPP. I think he still as at least another year to get his ring. The development of Dickson/Pitta will help preserve him so he can make those big time plays when he is on the field

Ravens to cut Derrick Mason as well.
What in the world is going on? I thought we were under 5 million? They are cutting guys like we are one of the teams over the cap.... How much was Mason suppose to make this season?

Heap, Mason, Gregg, McGahee all be cut to free up Cap Space =

Ravens Are Going after Nnamdi!

If we are able to sign Aso and bring back Heap and Mason cheaper, along with Yanda and Gaither I'll be happy!

It's possible that the Ravens could be going after a big name WR too. Santonio Holmes comes to mind, but I think Ngata and Yanda have to be the main focus of clearing this much cap room.

Why would Heap come back? This is a slap in the face to the man. If it is a move to restructure, couldn't that have been a conversation?? Did it have to be like this? That man gave everything he had on the field, always. Same with Mason. This is not the way to do this to these two players.

i know its hard to see him go, but its business, not personal. heap is one heck of a vet and pro bowl player, but he has trained the younger guys on our team and they require less money. it also helps us make moves to help other areas... like bringing in a player to help the pass rush.

Sometimes, a contract cannot simply be restructured because of the language in place. Often, it is easier just to terminate the original contract and sign a new deal. Whether or not a new deal is imminent, the announcement of the release grants a professional courtesy to the players to explore other options if they're inclined.

Mason and Heap are both your most reliable receivers and flaccos favorite targets.

Bottom line is: TRUST IN OZZIE...he knows what he is doing.
