From his stiff-arms, open-field moves(Seau is still looking the wrong wrong way), hard blocks in pass protection, and random/funny TD celebrations, I'm going to really miss Willis.

Hopefully, he's able to sign with a good team.

I'll be missing Willis McGahee, his stiff armed shoveling the DB to get to the Oakland TD zone on 2009 which put us over the Steelers for the playoff wild card.

If you look at AdamSchefters twitter page directly it doesn't show anything for the last three hours, but if you search for Willis Mcgahee you see Schefter's tweet about Willis as the first one made

RavensInsider says we will be saving about $9 million, which will help out a lot. and we will still restructure Foxworth i think?

SALARY CAP STATEMENT FROM EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT/GENERAL MANAGER OZZIE NEWSOME:

"We are excited to be back in the business of football and looking forward to having our players back.

"With this agreement comes a new salary cap, unlike last season when there was no cap. We will be making a number of roster moves in the next 48 hours that will free up salary cap space. This will give us the ability to make offers to our players we want to re-sign, plus put us in a position to sign free agents from other teams."

It was inevitable but he will be missed. Like ER20 said, he did a lot of memorable things. Sadly he wasn't worth half the money he was set to make. I certainly wouldn't be against him returning for a lower salary but I can't see it happening. Best of luck for the future Willis! (Except when you're playing us of course ;))

Will miss ya Willis, you were our entire offense in 2007 and the only thing we had to look forward to on Sundays (and on that crazy unfortunate monday night). We should have utilized you more because you were a BEAST in the open field (see screen pass against Dolphins) and had a wicked stiff arm. Best of luck to you and whoever you play for!

Not a surprise to anyone. How unfortunate he's not willing to take a pay cut.

Hell if we made that kind of money...
I wonder if the Ravens even offered him a chance to take a pay cut or just said hey your going to be released without asking but since our Front Office is one of the best I'm sure they asked him.

Now it gives us room to sign McClain perhaps?
Actually, my first thought was freeing up cap to re-sign Yanda and get Ngata in long term. Maybe this may help us re-sign Gaither at a good reasonable incentive deal, hopefully.

I'll never forget his performance against the mighty Pats in 07. Gosh I really thought we had them beat haha. And he became such a great guy never once complained about his shrunken role even after his pro bowl 2007 season did he?

Could see this coming from a mile away. The writing was on the wall when Rosenhaus said Willis wouldn't accept anything less than $6 million but what a shame. Maybe he can be enticed to come back for a lot less, he was a good player for us.

You deserved better, Willis! I still believe you should have been starting here, but it is what it is. Go to another team and do you, G!

Agreed. I love McGahee but #1 over Rice? No.

I do think he should have been used way more than he was this past season though.

I don't believe Ray Rice is built for 25-30 carries a game over 16-20 weeks. And I'm just a huge Willis fan that's all.

No one is built for 400-480 carries and being a fan of someones is cool, but doesn't make you right :)
