Ah! Beat me to it! There is no way Miami is going to win more than 4 games this season with Henne out. The'll have a new coach (Cowher) and he will clean house and turn that franchise around (hopefully)

Wait, does Cowher actually want to come back to coach the NFL? I thought he said he was basically done with coaching.

No, I have some degree of pride in my team, and I don't hope they lose now just so they can win later. I don't like playing for draft picks, especially having a disastrous season just to get there.
Realistically speaking though, they're all but guaranteed a top 5 pick, they have an awful, annoying head coach and have a horrible QB.

If I were a Chiefs fan I'd be hoping we got the 1st overall pick, drafted Luck and brought in a competent head coach. Imagine Luck at the helm of that offense with a coach that actually knows what they're doing.

It sounds stupid, but I'd fully understand people wanting their horrible team to lose 1 or 2 more games if it meant getting Luck.

I think if the Colts were to get the 1st overall pick they'd trade it for a kings ransom. Bill Polian is old and doesn't really seem to care all that much about the future. He'd then use the plethora of picks he'd get to continue drafting bad players. (Seriously, take Manning away and he's not exactly been terrific at drafting.)

The Colts/Chiefs game today could be one of the most important games in determining the #1 pick. Chiefs already have a win, and a win against the Colts would set them three games back because of a head-to-head tie. But, if the Colts win, the Chiefs are in the driving seat for last in the AFC.

So True. You could call this Round 1 in the deciding factor of the # 1 Pick. I wouldn't say the Chiefs are in the driving seat for last in the AFC if they lose because there is the Dolphins who also have no wins.

Chiefs beat the Colts and the Colts drop to 0-5. plus the Vikings finally won their first game. This just isn't fair that the time the Colts lose Peyton, the best QB Prospect to come out in a long time could be there for the Colts.

I believe the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes is down to 2 teams, Dolphins and Colts. Vikings finally won a game, Chiefs beat the Colts giving the Chiefs 2 wins on the year.

If Denver are any were near no.1 pick, they could make a move for luck, and the seahawks. They are the only two I could realty see trading up for this pick if the number one team is lookin to trade out

Idk about Denver. I think Tebow may be the long term answer there. Only time will tell though.

Colts or Dolphins imo. I hope it's the Dolphins. The Colts don't need another superstar QB for another decade.

The Broncos would be a good candidate but Tebow just showed he can be the guy. If he had better receivers who could get open, they might have won the game against the Chargers.

Colts or Dolphins it seems, until one of them wins and hopefully the Colts win soon so Miami drafts Luck..... but man how horrible would it be if Miami ends up with the # 1 Pick and Andrew Luck decides to stay for his Senior Season at Stanford. That would just be well... horrible luck.(pun intended)

It's a Conspiracy I tell you... Bill Polian, Peyton Manning, Jim Caldwell and the whole Colts front office is all coming to together to make sure the Colts draft Andrew Luck. Peyton Manning is faking so the Colts can lose, because he even knows how horrible they are without him and take Luck... unfortunately their conspiracy is being ruined by the Dolphins.

It just had to be THIS Season that the Colts decide to suck, it just had to be THIS season that Manning's neck issue become bigger than before. I am going to wish and pray that the Colts win enough games to take themselves out of the running for Andrew Luck, like fall to 4 or 5.

Do you really think the Colts would lay down to get him?
I don't think there is any team that would lay down to get him. There is no coach in this league that would do this. GMs might think it, but they could never bring the idea to a coach. Players certainly aren't laying down. They are always auditioning for contracts every game. And if coaches start making 'bad' roster changes then it is noticed by the players, fans and media.

I don't buy a conspiracy, but hypothetically if it came down to the final week of the season and a Colts loss meant picking #1 and a Colts win meant picking #2 or later, you best believe they're laying down.

I have been thinking that same thing, but honestly the colts are not that bad of a football team. I think that Curtis Painter is actually improving and playing relatively well so I am not sure what is going on there. Maybe it is just good old fashioned bad luck.

Polian needs to be investigated especially after his recent comments about Luck. His incessant man crush goes back before the season started.

Teams who Haven't Won:
Colts: 0-6
Dolphins: 0-5
Rams: 0-5

Teams with 1 Win:
Cardinals: 1-4
Broncos: 1-4
Panthers: 1-5
Jaguars: 1-5
Vikings: 1-5

Teams with 2 Wins:
Chiefs: 2-3
Browns: 2-3
Seahawks: 2-3
Cowboys: 2-3
Eagles: 2-4

Dolphins & Colts are neck & neck heading into tomorrow's games. Dolphins play the Broncos, Saints play the Colts on Sunday Night Football. Rams play Dallas but they have Bradford.

Just an update: Brdaford's officially ruled out for tomorrow's game due to his high ankle injury. He could very well miss next week's game too.

I think the 1st draft pick will go to either the Rams or the Phins. The Colts re going to start winning games eventually: Painter's been doing pretty well, especially with Garcon. They have the best D of the three, too.

Ok so with all this speculation that Luck will pull an eli and elway and say i dont want to play for you too the No.1 pick and force a trade for someone he does want to play for.. could this someone be his ex coach jim harbugh and the 49ers??

Now the way the 49ers are playing the may have to give up 3rd first round picks (just and example of how mad a trade this could be) because there in a weak division and are almost guarenteed the playoffs and could go deep in them, its just really greenbay and saints that could go further than them in nfc playoffs, i think they pick very late 20s, based on current form...

theres also the question "has alex smith turned the corner" under this new regime, maybe the feel he could be there man and not want too mortgage there future drafts on one player..

Now ill be the first to admit, being from the uk i dont see much college games, so im just going off opinions on Luck, but if he is all he is said to be, how much of a difference could he make to the 49ers? Are they short on just one or too positions to be a powerhouse in the NFL or at least NFC again? one of them being a possible "elite" QB?

Do you think there may have been a mutual agreement before jim left stanford between the two men, well Lucks father (apparently the one who would force the trade) and jim?

Its an intresting scenario...

It's all media speculation. Nothing shows that Luck would do do a "power move" to force a trade so he could go play for a team he wants to play for. Now the media is trying to paint Luck into a bad light and honestly Luck seems to be a class act and if he didn't want to be drafted by any of the top teams this year, he can just stay back at Stanford for his Senior Year. The media forgets he is a Junior and assumes he'll come out so the only power move Luck can make is by staying at Stanford another season. Don't believe it.

I don't think they've been saying he will, but that he definitely could if he wanted to.

The guy's the best QB prospect since Manning (or is at least hyped to be) and every team that doesn't have a franchise signal-caller will want him.
