Andrew Luck Lottery

True. But the Colts could be thinking Aaron Rodgers with Luck. Grab him, let him sit on the bench for several years while they watch one of the best. Plug him in and not skip a beat.
[/quote]

That would be a coup, but I can't see one of the usual cellar dwellers letting that happen.

I keep hearing about how Andrew Luck is the best QB Prospect since.... Peyton Manning and yet we are looking at a scenario where the Colts can draft the second coming of Peyton Manning. I was thinking the same thing as PU, the Colts can draft Luck, let him sit on the bench for a couple seasons and when Manning retires, plug him right in. In all honestly with Manning having neck issues I can see him not being able to play ever again.

Yea i see what your saying, but for all the years the colts have had manning, they only have one ring to show for it.. maybe have a very good QB but not the best (flacco/rivers/ryan) with a few extra good players over the years might have served them better... who knows? maybe they might try a different direction and build a great team.. and soome idiot GM would throw away a draft or two for that matter for Andrew Luck, it could be to good an oportunity to pass up, either way i wouldnt want to be the one that has to make that decision..

Seriously, the Colts may be the worst drafters in the entire league. Manning was a godsend for them, because if they didn't have him, the franchise might be in a 3rd location by now. Horrible talent all the way around. Even if Luck is as good as Manning, they'd still only be good enough for one or two Super Bowls in a ten year period. They need more playmakers.

Is there betting odds on this. I want to put my money on KC. They are the worst team in the league and they are suffering some big injuries.

I wouldn't be too quick on that, Colts are about to fall to 0-2 themselves, and Seahawks are 0-2 now.

Him going to the Colts would just not be fair. You had your HOF QB for a while now. Let him go to someone starving for one.

Locally here, we get KC games and I have to tell you. Chiefs will end up winning the Luck lottery, they are by far the worst team in the league through two weeks. I think Seattle will win 1 or 2 more games than them.

Well it seems the way things are going KC, Seattle or Indy is going to win the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes, but here is the list of teams who are 0-2:

- Dolphins: They could certainly win games, but I expect Dolphins to draft a QB next year regardless it's Luck or someone else.

- Colts: Very Good Chance of Luck landing in Indy.

- Chiefs: With the way things are falling apart, 90% chance they could draft Luck.

- Vikings: I know they drafted Ponder but Luck is years better than Ponder.

- Panthers: 0% Chance of Luck. Cam Newton is showing he is the real deal.

- Seahawks: It had to be a coincidence but on the day Hasselbeck goes out and throws for over 300 Yards, Seahawks produce nothing offensively. They will definitely be in the running all season. Then again, Pete Carroll could take Matt Barkley stupidly.

Yea. I watched quite a lot of plays in that game and KC just looks flat on both sides of the ball. Losing Weis has been huge.

It's going to be a fierce competition between KC and the Colts.

Like many have said. If the Colts get him, its just not fair. They could possibly have two franchise quarterbacks sequentially while other teams have been cycling guys for years. Time for another team.

Its exciting to see guys like Stafford in Detroit and Bradford in St Louis. Lets see Luck turn around another lowly franchise.

It's a conspiracy!!!!! But it could happen. But I agree with you, I would like to see Luck turn another franchise around. And I can't stand the Colts

Football Gods would be Colts fans (probably stemmed from the B-More days). They see Manning nearing the end and see a once in a lifetime prospect and poof they find a way to make it happen.

Yeah I know and look Seattle won a game, Buffalo, Detroit, Oakland and other regular Top of the Draft teams are all doing well while the Colts look like they are going to lose against the Steelers and fall to 0-3.

0-2 Teams After Week 3:

- Dolphins

- Chiefs

- Vikings

- Rams

- Colts

Realistically 3 of those teams, Dolphins, Colts & Chiefs would draft Andrew Luck since Vikings & Rams have their Franchise QBs.

The Jags are still in this. They have a win already, but odds are there won't be any 0-16 teams. It depends on how well Gabbert does, because McCown is just awful.

I think as the season progresses for the Colts, and Collins gets more used to the offense they could win some games. Especially against the Jags.

Seattle, Miami, and KC are the front-runners IMO.

im agreeing with u, i think if they have the number one spot they trade out and try and get two or three good players rather than one great player, this will def happened if there is a possibility manning is coming back fit next year. but if he done, maybe they will take him.

im sticking with the colts for this, unless manning comes back this year, isray thinks theres hope, they could be 0 12 then manning comes back in dec and they can jump to 4 and 12 like that and move down 5/6 spots in the draft..

id let him sit though and make sure i get the no.1 pick if they are in the running for it in dec an he did come back though tbh.. good luck to jim isray this season if he finds himself in any of these situations, he has a few tough decisions to make

what do all these teams have in common you mentioned, including the colts? they all need a QB, now david gerrard isnt manning or brady, but i think hed be a step up from what they all have atm, i dont know why he hasnt got a call, unless these teams cnat see how bad their QB play is, cassell threw a pick on screen, a screen!! i dont think i have ever seen that before, the ball was no where near the rb it was closer to the lineman blocking... and to think some of our fans hate on joe

This is so true. Like you said, even if Luck turns out to be good as Manning it won't matter if Luck doesn't have a supporting cast that is a defense and running game. The Colts haven't had a running back since they traded Faulk who went on to be a Hall of Famer by the way. Their defense has been suspect for years with only Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis and Bob Sanders the only 3 big play makers for them.

Honestly, if Peyton can still play for another couple years, why sit the # 1 Pick for a couple years when they can draft a Matt Kalil who can come right in at LT and be a huge upgrade and would certainly bring talent to the offensive line, or a receiver like Alshon Jeffery. I know everyone will be putting the Colts in the Luck Sweepstakes but the Colts may be better off drafting players who can help them win now and gives them a chance to get Peyton one more ring before he retires.

Indianapolis would go through 3 teams in 3 years. The Indianapolis Mannings, the Indianpolis No-Mannings, then the Indianapolis Lucks. On one end I don't want to see them luck out in the draft again and have one player carry them to success again. On the other end imagine if a team with good talent that drafts well ended up with Luck?

Luck to the Dolphins looks to be a sure thing but man it's going to be interesting with Tom Brady & Andrew Luck in the same division facing off twice a year.

I had a look on the Chiefs forums a little while ago and they all want their team to lose the rest of their games so they can take Luck. "Suck for Luck" is in full swing over there.

That's pretty sad that they're rooting against their own team now.

Well wouldn't you if the Ravens still didn't have a Franchise QB, wouldn't you be rooting against the Ravens just so we could draft Luck? I can guarantee if we didn't draft Joe, there would be threads everywhere on this board about drafting Luck.

As long as the Colts don't Draft Andrew Luck I don't care where he goes.

I'd like to see Indy get the #1 overall pick. It would be interesting to see if they take him, since Manning is on the last few years of his career, or trade the pick for lots of other future picks. They need alot of help all over the field and I think trading would be the best option for them

No, I have some degree of pride in my team, and I don't hope they lose now just so they can win later. I don't like playing for draft picks, especially having a disastrous season just to get there.

Agreed but I also agree with JO_75. The Chiefs are a top-5 pick caliber bad team right now and Todd Haley has got to be one of the worst Head Coaches around. I imagine rooting for them to "Suck for Luck" wouldn't be all that hard to do. Plus it's only a couple of games that they really have a chance of winning.
