Very Classy Move By The Jets

11 posts in this topic

I looked on PFT for more rumors/news on the meeting. I saw that the Jets had a meeting with staffers and I was interested in reading what it was about. They brought the Coach in and the owner talked a while too. The owner told the staffers that they would be paid for all their losses that has occured due to the lockout, and Ryan followed up with an 'electrifying' speech, getting them pumped up. Then the owner got back up and told them how immediate the pay would be; the staffers once they left the room would have the money in their accounts.

I applaud them for this. Very classy move by them to get the staffers on their feet and excited again. I hope/expect most teams, if not all teams, to do the same thing (maybe in less of a flashy way, but still compensate them).

I don't see anything that would motivate me writing positive about them after reading this...

Instead, good for them.....

A lot of teams didn't touch their employee's pay - LINK

I would hope they'd be paid....nothing spectacular here. As berad said, many just paid them like business as usual.

Ha, Jets enforced one of the worst pay policies anyway -

New York Jets: Football operations employees will take a 25% pay cut. Everyone else will have mandatory furloughs. If no preseason games are missed, the employees will be reimbursed for the money.

Yea but Rex gave a great speech. That has to account for something, right?

I would rather applaud teams like the Ravens who did not cut staff, cut pay and are already ready to roll.
