20 posts in this topic

I'm sitting here watching the afc divisional game from last year, to see what we really need this free agency, and it is one glaring need a RT.

We could be fine with everything else but that RT position is not looking to good. Oh yeah We need to get Marshall back to man the RG position, protect Joe and everything else will fall in place.

I recorded it sorry, but I have full confidence in if we can get a solid RT and get Marshall back we would be fine. IF we can protect joe he is going to take us where we need to be Superbowl.

How can you watch it again? It would be like torture for me. I could barely watch it the first time, even when we had the 14 point lead I had a horrible feeling in my gut (probably because we couldn't hold a lead all season).

After all the emotions of will the Ravens win or lose are over, you watch the games differently. Or at least I do.

I recorded every Ravens game on my DVR, preseason included. It's fun to go back and what what made a play work, or what caused a play to break down. You get to go back and see was it the oline that didn't open an line or a certain run play, or was it Rice who didn't stay patient and allow things to develop.

You get to go back and watch and see how certain moments changed a game, or how a guy like Kruger got good pressure but it didn't result in a sack. Plays that generally go unnoticed while watching live.

After the outcome of the games are already decided, it's pointless to think about what should have been or could have been. That Steelers game was bad, and it should've been a win, but it's over and done with now.

I've never watched a game over again, I don't have any way to record them, no DVR or digital recording device, TIVO..no VHS VCR..haha

One time is usually enough for me, the Ravens give me a heart attack most of the time

I wish I had a mass collection of games. It would be something to have every Ravens game EVER on dvd

Watching that game in a vacuum, a glaring need for me would have been a play-making WR.

I think thats always been a huge part of our team and why we lose unfortunately. Hopefully the "Killer T's" can help us out in the future

i still have both the AFC Wildcard Game vs the Chiefs and the AFC Divisional game vs the Steelers recorded on my FIOS TV DVR; along with the NFL Networks America's Game (Story of the 200 Ravens Superbowl victory) and the Replay games of the Ravens vs the Saints, Texans and the Bills. i won't delete these UNTIL we have football this season so that i can record those games.

I was going to say pass rusher opposite Suggs, he dominates the Steelers no matter when the game is played or if he has one arm. We get a guy that can put something resembling pressure on the opposite side with JSmith coming into his own the second time we play them and Roethlisberger is going to have some serious issues getting the ball downfield.

I agree, but I'll still say the Oline play is what has to improve the most. I still think back to the first offensive play of the 3rd quarter. 4WR set(2WR 2TE), Flacco has 3 out of his 4 WRs open, but Grubbs gets beat badly and Flacco doesn't even have time to look deep. I'm still certain that play would have resulted in a TD if Mason or Stallworth were the targets.

I already think Ben has issues getting the ball down field against our defense. People make such big deal about Flacco struggling against the Steelers and he does. But Ben struggles with our defense just as much. For 3 1/2 quarter our defense is usually dominating that offense. However it seems like once we get inside that 7 minute mark of the 4th quarter our defense just loses focus.

Having the offense put up more points would help as well.

I won't deny any of that, but speaking specifically about that game, the offense's longest pass from scrimmage was a 21-yard pass to Heap. Joe threw deep passes to Mason at least twice, but Mase shouldn't be relied on to make deep catches at this point in his career.

For as little help as Suggs usually gets, the D still performed relatively well.

The o-line needing to improve is a given. Pittsburgh's o-line had their struggles as well, but at least they had explosive weapons on the outside.

Oh I agree, I actually think they will have their hands full with our offense this year. Maybe not the first game, because I don't know how quickly the young guys will acclimate themselves to the offense. But week 9 could be a game where our offense explodes on them like we did back in 2006.

Dickson, Smith, and Hardy or Reed will be nightmares for Polomalu and Clark in the back end.

2 and 3 TE sets will force Harrison and Woodley to cover more. Because we'll have WRs who can attack Polomalu and Clark, Timmions and Farrior will be forced to cover Rice one on one.

Over the last two regular seasons, Flacco is averaging about 250 yards passing on the Steelers and that's without guys who can consistently stretch the field.

If the young guys can give us what we think, watch out.

So it's agreed we have the deep threat hopefully,we need the pass rusher opposite suggs, and a solid RT,and let Joe fly will equal Superbowl.

Why torture yourself like that?!

We really just need to stop shooting ourselves in the foot every time we have a playoff game vs the Steelers. As the Packers proved, if you don't offer up those gimmies, the Steelers can't manage a win.
