Free Agency 2011

750 posts in this topic

Since it seems the Lockout will end today(let's hope the players don't screw this up), and with reports being that teams can begin signing their own Free Agents, and contacting other Free Agents and talking trade I figure I get this thread ready.(Can a Mod Pin this once we start hearing about teams signing players. Thanks!)

Anything in regards of Free Agency, regarding the other 31 teams. Obviously Ravens talk is where we'll talk about who the Ravens sign. Last year I remember we had different threads on different players, this year let's just keep anything regarding Free Agency in this thread.

The only chance that players screwing the voting is they hate money....Besides, there is no greed involved cuz they will lose money regardless if lockout continues...

In regards to FA news. What will be better to watch? ESPN or NFLN?

Alrighty then.

I hope they do a FA special like last year with Steve Wyche, Mike Lombardi and Jason La Canfora with Rich. This year we have Albert Breer to add to it.

not if you're a Steelers, Colts, Pats or Jets fan. I think those teams own ESPN.

Probably depends on whether or not they're counting Ngata's "tag". We need to get him signed ASAP to free up some cap.

Espn juat said we are 1.8 million over the cap.could have sworn it was reported we were 5.3 mil under earlier this week
We're at $101.3 million currently and thats without Ngatas franchise tag, so under by about 5 would sound about right

Does that include the tenders?
Nope....add in almost $10M in tenders plus Ngatas FT and Ozzie has a lot of work to do.

Ngata's long-term deal needs to get done so we can actually do something in Free Agency.

I figured since teams could start talking trade this would be the first one to happen. I heard Seattle is suppose to be in the Kevin Kolb race as well. So it's the race in the NFC West to Over Pay for Kolb!

Me too... if the Cardinals give up more than a conditional 3rd or 2nd for Kolb, that's a bad deal.

Yep. That's what I am hearing. The deal could be final today. Arizona Republic reporting as well.
