Purple Punishment

Steve Bisciotti

It seems to me that our owner is one of the few owners that actually gives a damn about whats going on for the players and doesnt mind giving what is being requested. Is it just me that thinks this? True class act!

And I would go one step further than that and add that I see him as one of a kind: non greedy owner who cares about the fans as much as himself. There was an article on this site a few months back (maybe 5 months ago) that had him quoted saying he thinks the lockout was foolish and had the chance of messing the league up on a fan basis. He actually cares, something I can't say about the vast majority of the owners and players in this league.

Yeah, he said he was embarrassed by the lockout and fighting over money, very candid. He's a great owner, the players genuinely gravitate towards him which speaks volumes because he tries to distance himself from the team, football-wise - that being, he lets the coaches, personnel department, and players do their job without interference.

He's very level-headed and intelligent, one of the best in the league, can't stress it enough. He may not be as 'influential' as other owners because he's so young, I still think NFL owners are a kind of boys club... old money > young money to some.

Which is why I really hope Training Camp returns to McDaniel next year. Steve is always reminiscent of he and his family going to camp to watch the Colts. He gets the fans. I think he's an honest person and is as big of a Raven fan as we are! Let's hope he stays this way and NEVER let's this team go.

He seems like a guy that truly enjoys the sport and would be fun to tailgate with.
thats exactly it, he's a fan just as much as we are, he wants to make money like everybody but he's also smart enough to know when he has to give a little to get a lot

LOL yeah hopefully he is. We need to gather this thread together into a message and send it to Angelos somehow. Make him feel like the incompetent, selfish jerk he really is.

How great would it be if Bisciotti bought the Orioles?

And then started a second Baltimore NFL team? Orioles have no hope (sorry, that was my one allotted Oriole rib for the month).

I thought it was great that Mr. Bisciotti left Atlanta due to a family obligation and just let Dick Cass cast his vote. What a classy guy! He's got his priorities straight, that's for sure!

A good choice but I think Cal Ripken, Jr., would be the best choice.

I think that him being idependtly wealthy is what helps him out so much. It has allowed him to be focused on what is good for the franchise not his wallet and the fact that he can differentiate the two is what allows him to be as good as he is. I think for as much love as I have for the player's , coach's, and the rest of the FO it start's with him. He let's them do their job and just sits back as a very wealthy fan, creating a losse atmosphere where taking the fun out of the game is not our process for running a business. That is why so many people that leave here don't do as well when they leave because other owner's take all of the fun out of it to make a buck.

Good job Mr. Bisciotti.

My respect was earned when i saw him on -

30 for 30 - The Band That Wouldn't Die

It was about the Baltimore Colts leaving and the Marching band that actually hid their uniforms so the crappy colts couldnt take them.

If you havnt seen it, you should ,its a must IMO.

Of course i know all about it but when they left i was only 1 yrs old, but i fully understand how the fans felt because if that happened to the RAVENS i know for a fact the would CRY and then try and start a Riot.

I love my RAVENS. The only one thing i would change is their uniforms for Home games , i would change it to their all Black Jerseys for Home games. (i was playing golf today and was watching a bunch of Ravens and said to my buddy what color are the crows, he said - Black nuff said). Other teams have theirs but we our the only team that can legitimately have an argument to have them. And we all know they would be Black if it was upto the Fans.
(all my Ravens Jerseys are Black except for one that is Ray Lewis's, it was a gift.)

Man i get chills when i see them in all Black, they look so tough and intimidating. I get extra pumped up for the game when i find out they are wearing them.

Other teams have them to like the Raiders and Saints but they have their accent colors too, Ours should be all black with just a tad of purple if they have to (All Black for me baby) just for traditional purposes.

Yea but you know he is a fan too and imo he wanted Cam Canned just like 99.99% of the fans, and its true what you said he lets the Coaches do their job because Harbs. talked him into keeping Cam.

I know bisciotti was very hesitant to keep him but Good ol Harbs just had to open his mouth.

On a side note-- i really have to stop bring up Cam Cameron, it isnt going to change anything ,its just that i cant help it. To know that we have to deal with this <coach> for another season. Hopefully he gets canned mid season if he isnt producing though. Billick did it and started winning too.

I love everything about Steve Bisciotti. The way he is deliberate, reasonable and passionate about football and his team. He is a very fair boss to have for any Ravens staff member too. All in all we the Ravens fans are lucky to have him own the team... Go Bisciotti!

I will give Mr. Bisciotti credit - he knows what he is doing, as well as what is right for the fans and their interests.

He is a rare gem. I hope we have a season, so we can see his commitment, for his is the real commitment to excellence.

Ravens are his family and you know he never overweighs money over his families, so he'll stay with the Ravens forever....best owner in the league comes with best FO staffs and players....That's how we roll...

Now, lets end the lockout once and for all....

One reason why he is such a successful owner is that he lets the professional have the control of the day-to-day operations. He doesn't micro-manage his people, he lets them do what they do best. He has stated in the past, many times, that he doesn't like to very vocal in decisions of the club. He lets Ozzie, Harbs, Eric etc do what they do best. Unlike what you see in places like Oakland, Cincy and Washington.

Steve Bisciotti gets my nod as the best owner in the NFL. The man flat out knows football, loves his team, and has a strong commitment to Ravens fans and the city of Baltimore! :minioiseau1:

While Biscotti said this many times over " he is running this team as a business." In reality he accomplished a great task because while watching out for his best interest which is making money at the same time keeping the fans happy to support there team. That requires a great deal of Multi tasking...

as a Baltimore girl living in LA - it is really sad that the two baseball teams I could root for have the WORST owners!
I will always love the O's, even though they are horrible, and I can't even talk about the ridiculous Dodgers
At least I've got my Ravens! You can always tell when the front office is run well - it makes a huge difference and you really want to believe.
Now just end all this crazy nonsense and play some football!

Steve runs this team with passion because while I was looking at values of pro football teams this team gave good ole Steve a return on his investment. Even without a Superbowl!
