[/b][/color][/font][color="#000000"][font="Verdana"]- Warn Status shows your current [color="#ff0000"]Moderator Warning [/color]level for violations of the [b][color="#800080"]Forum [/color][/b][url="http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules"][b][color="#800080"]Code of Conduct[/color][/b][/url].

- When it fills up, you're normally permanently banned from posting and your account is closed. Please note that, depending on the circumstances, you can be banned and your account closed without a full Warn Status bar.

- Warn Status can be reduced by the Moderator Staff for noted extended periods of good behavior.

[font="Verdana"][b]Moderators issue warnings for violations of the Forum Code of Conduct via personal messages (PM) and e-mail.[/b] When a formal warning is issued, it will be indicated on your Warn Status bar. Click on Warn Status to see what violation a warning was issued for. Additional information regarding the violation will be sent to you via PM or e-mail. To discuss a warning or violation with the issuing moderator, reply via the PM or e-mail sent to you. Do not discuss warnings or violations in an open forum.

Several common violations for which moderator warnings are issued:
- Profanity and vulgarity (text or images)
- Personal attacks and name calling
- Posting in ALL CAPS
- Smack talk and trolling behavior
- Spamming and advertising

[b]Please check for personal messages each time you login.[/b] The personal message system is how other members, moderators and administrators can contact you. If you receive a warning from a moderator, you will also receive a note in your personal message inbox. To check any personal messages you may have, roll over your username in the black header bar at the top of the page and click on “Messenger” within the dropdown menu. Doing this takes you to your inbox where you’re able to view all personal messages received.

The moderators are currently checking everyones like we do the beginning of each season. No one can see yours and you can't see the other members.

Click on the words that say "Warn Status" and you will see which moderator warned you for what. If any of them are old (like 6 months or so), send that moderator a nice PM and ask to have it removed.

I don't get how someone can be banned though. Why can't someone who's account was deleted just make a new one and start from scratch?

Has to do with ISP address checks. If your ISP matches one that just got banned or has been banned in the past, then your account will be terminated, Terminator style.

You know your stuff.

But yeah, while people [i]have[/i] found ways around this restriction, the software gets smarter with every upgrade and with each account closure so it knows what to look for. Also, we keep a record of repeat offenders and we recognize things from posting styles to familiar IP regions.

Yeah dude, I do because I was a moderator in training for a site that sort of broke down and dissipated due to monetary reasons. I was really stoked about getting the job too, but then I got a notice saying, 'sorry for the inconvenience, but our site will be shutting down on such and such date'.... kinda made me dissappointed, but its all good.

So i clicked on my warn status and my very first warn has been 1 year and 5 months ago. so I just PM that mod who gave it to me and it goes away?

I for one think Romo would make a great Mod. He is really involved on our site and is an excellent poster who thinks his thoughts through before posting them. If ya'll need an active, competitive, and aggressive moderator , then I give him my vote of confidence.

The wink was for an inside joke we have in the Espn fantasy football league thread haha.

And yeah, I would be up for gaining a spot in the mod hierarchy too since I was in training on another site for the position already. If you ever need another Mod, just give me a holler.
