Who Would You Rather Draft?

Later. No question about it. I've taken QBs like Ryan, Flacco and Roethlisberger in 5+ rounds in recent Mocks. It's a passing league, so while most feature backs are taken in the first 2, a solid QB could be easily be found down the line. Wouldn't throw Kolb in there with those names though.

I think it completely depends on where you are drafting. If you can get an elite QB at the end of the first round, that may give you a bigger advantage over taking the 5th or 6th best RB.

On another topic I can't decide between keeping Mike Wallace or Michael Turner in a .5 PPR league, I already have Vick and Foster trying to decide on 3rd keeper...

Keeper league. Go with Wallace. A lot of people don't realize but M Turner is 29 years old. Grant it, his miles are low. But you could tell at the end of last season, the wheels didn't have the same pop. So in a keeper league, I'm keeping Wallace.

In a non-keeper league, I'm taking Turner before Wallace because RBs are at a premium this year. But since you have Foster your base is solid.

James Starks or Thomas Jones.

Assuming T Jones goes back to KC. At first glance you think Starks. But he only played a few games. Plus Ryan Grant will be back, so it'll be interesting to see.

Thomas Jones. I expect James Starks to lose most of his carries to Ryan Grant, and the dynamic nature of the Packers' passing game will take even more off of Starks. Thomas Jones will continue to steal work on the goal line from Jamaal Charles and be a solid number three back.

Thomas Jones really frustrated me last season. Some games he would have like 20 pts then the the next week would be 1. Still, I think he has more value than Starks who is very unproven.

It'll be interesting. The chiefs are in play for McClain apparently. If that's the case, they might not have a need for Jones and we'll be having the conversation McClain or Starks.

Kevin Kolb (Arizona) or Sam Bradford.

Both are intriguing options. Bradford is in Micky-D's offense and can sling. Kolb has a great WR to play with.

Bradford. We've seen his floor, and it's pretty good. I only see him improving under McDaniels.

I'm just not a fan of Kolb.

Bradford, without question. I don't trust Kevin Kolb. He hasn't shown anything to prove that he'll be a viable fantasy option. I'm very anxious to see how Bradford does in 2011 with McDaniels.

Antonio Gates or the rest of the field?
Antonio Gates, obviously, but I think Finley and Clark will give him a run for his money this year, and I'd rather wait and grab one of those two if possible, or my next TE Vernon whose going to have a comeback year imo.

And Bradford will be loads better than Kolb, he was suprisingly good last season and should get in the area of 4K, while I cant say the same for Kolb unless he does go to AZ and Larry gives him a ton of help.

How about this age old question

Adrian Peterson or Chris Johnson? Or Arian Foster?

You'll never be able to find a consensus on this question.

Last week I had it:
1) Adrian Peterson
2) Arian Foster
3) Chris Johnson

Now that Hassleback is going to be a Titan and McNabb probably goes to Vikings:
1) Adrian Peterson
2) Chris Johnson
3) Arian Foster

I like Foster I just like to see repeat performances before I can rate them top. Hell Steve Slayton (which I was very fond of and overvalued) had one great year with the Texans and eventually disappeared.

are there any rookies you would feel comfortable drafting in the midrounds?
Running backs are generally the safe rookies, but the only highly touted one is Mark Ingram. He's on the Saints though and will be in some sort of rotation, and I don't see the fantasy production there.

I wouldn't take any rookies this year unless you're in a keeper league. The shortened off-season will lessen their impact, and QBs and receivers need time to develop.

Yes Ingram would be one. Probably first off the board. You also have Daniel Thomas the RB in Miami. Bush isn't an everydown back.

As for WR. Julio Jones should get work right away. Also AJ Green from the Bengals should also get a lot of work. Gradkowski is no slouch.

Whose better?
Rodgers or Vick. Foster or C Johnson
That depends. Your kinda know what your going to get from Rodgers. As for Vick, it depends on whether or not you believe he can repeat his success from last year and if he can make it through the season w/o injury.

I for one always like the 'safe' pick. For me that's Rodgers. But Vick is #2 in my book.

I like CJ. He jumped past Foster when the Titans signed Hassleback. Plus Foster just lost his personal bulldozer.

Not trying to be nice. But I like your 3. Vick is top 2 QB, AJ (I love) is top 2 and CJ is a top 2.

I don't really see anyone that should keep two QBs in this league. Could make an argument for Rodgers/Romo.

Here are the top 3 I would pick from each team, and ranked in how I think they stand.

Loading....
Rodgers
Foster
Calvin Johnson

KISS THE RING:
Brees
Peterson
Mendenhall

Purple Nurple
P Manning
R Rice
McCoy

Rob
Rivers
R White
McFadden (tough 3rd Keeper decision)

Josh
Brady
Gates (or Gore)
Stephen Jackson

Here's one, Lynch or Johnathan Stewert
That's a tough one now.

Seattle has worked to improve their O-Line with taking OL men with their first two picks and one from last year. They added a better WR to stretch the field, but they lost a QB to keep defenses honest.

Whereas the Panthers are getting Jeff Otah back. Which will make a HUGE difference. See 2009 numbers compared to 2010. That's a lot of Otah. But Stewart lacks the role of featured back. They also have no immediate help at QB.

It's a close one. But Stewart is the more explosive back. Lynch's 3.5 avg last year is down right scary. The Panthers look to commit to the run game and there is always a chance that D-Will goes down with an injury.

I like Stewart slightly.

Yea I agree, although Im pretty much even. DWill has some injury issues and either way Stewert will get some carries and goalline touches. My only question is since this isnt John Fox's system you think Stewerts production will go down and DWill's will go up or other way around?

I don't think the fantasy thread is the right place for it, but tell him they cut Todd Heap, Mason, Gregg, and McGahee as well as signing Vontae Leach. Also tell him Nnamdi Asomgha went to the Eagles, I think he along with every football fan would like to know where he ended up if they don't already.

Yea. Its definitely a QB league. Start 2 and they score 6 for a TD. First everyteam should keep their top QB. But even since its a QB league, nobody really has a 2nd QB that warrants keeping over another top player at RB/WR (that I can see). Rodgers/Romo, Rivers/Ryan, Brees/Big Ben or Vick/Schaub (but are you really willing to forgo CJ and AJ) are the only ones I could see keeping as a pair.

But with only 7 teams in the league. There are still serviceable QBs in FA and more should be more put back after the keepers.

But that's just my strategy. Others might feel different about the value of their 2nd QB in a league like this. But I'd have a hard time passing up some of their other players.

Its tough to call. Rivera's background is defense and their new O-Cord has mostly been a TE coach. So the history isn't very helpful.

But I would have to believe since they have both guys on the roster again, they plan on going with a run-heavy attack, especially since they have youth at the QB position. So I do expect to see both guys get plenty of touches in this system.

L Blount or Cedric Benson.
I have to go with Blount. He's more talented(rivaled Jamaal Charles in terms of big runs last season), and has a better supporting cast. There isn't any notable competition for carries either.

I'd be okay with Benson as my RB3, because he could still produce low-end RB2 numbers this season, but I don't see enough upside to warrant drafting him over a RB like Blount.

Blount no question. Benson will put up good numbers, but Blount will be better especially now that Caddilac left. .
