I thought Madden was a world-wide release, then I checked all the stores for the UK and they told me that it's the 2nd of September.

I pre-ordered mine on Tuesday from Gamestop, absolutely free. I traded in a bunch of games I never play anymore and I actually got paid 31 cents lol

At the risk of sounding like a complete hypocrite, is there really a point in reserving a copy? I can't remember there ever being a time when Madden was sold out at any store on the day of its release.

If it wasn't for the fact that I had enough money left over from the trade ins to preorder Madden for free, I wouldn'tve done it. I was just trying to get withing 20 dollars of getting it, because college is going to make money tight for me.

But for others (and partially myself, I confess), the perks are enough for them to preorder it. Like you can get the AFC/NFC Pro Bowl teams one place, get the Rookie/Sophomore squad with a 20 dollar rebate somewhere else, and you can get all speed/all strength (or something like that) at another.

You don't even get combine numbers of players you don't scout? Seriously?

Any fan can check the NFL's site, ESPN, NFL Network etc. and find out those numbers. So, by the sounds of that, you don't get the in-depth scouting of the individual players you're really interested in, while knowing NOTHING about most of the draft class? Epic fail.

Superstar mode sounds as useless as ever and the game-play is largely unchanged (the Demo felt JUST like NCAA 11). Man, I wish someone else was allowed to make an NFL game so EA couldn't screw it up every year.

IGN gave it a 8/10 and Gametrailers gave it an 8.5/10. Not too bad. I just hope the reported bugs doesn't completely piss me off when I get it. Also, reviewers are saying the commentary is still repetitive so nothing new. Lol

It doesn't matter who owns the magazine. It's the same thing as GamePro, Electronic Gaming Monthly, OPM, OXM, and Nintendo Power. So what if a Video Game Store owns a Video Game Magazine? Now if a video game publisher or developer owned it, maybe I could understand that view point, because of assumed favoritism. But c'mon.

question would you trust walmart to give you quality reviews? Written by thier people? I have met some gamestop employees that thought they were in the know . they were so far off that I wont even talk to them anymore , babbages does not hirer quality reviewers . plus game informer always slanted reviews against madden for a long long time

The only advatage for them for would to write reviews which only expose the good parts of games and make people want to buy them. That's the only way for them to gain an advatage, so really I see nothing wrong with them also owning gamestop.

But the problem with your argument is that GameInformer is [i]not[/i] written by GameStop employees. Just because it's owned by the company doesn't mean the same people who run the stores are writing for the magazines. Andy, Reiner and company aren't sitting around peddling games in a GameStop store when they're not writing articles. And just because you personally met some ignorant GS employees doesn't mean that they're a representation of every GS employee.

As you can see, GI is basically right around the average of the ratings for each year, so I fail to see how they're slanting Madden every year. The past two years, their rating has been above the average rating for the games to boot. This year's version is actually the lowest score they've ever given to a Madden game, and the worst since 2007's version.

I'm not really concerned about one magazine's rating of it being a 7.5; I could care a less if they gave it a 5 lol. I love my football, and as a result, I love my football games. Doesn't matter if its Blitz, 2k, Madden, or T-Ray's Wildcat Version.... hahahahaha. Point is, I'm going to play it either way; why whine about one place's ranking?

I don't really care either about Game Reviews, I just love Football as well lol. Once the Roster Update for 2011 is released, I'll play Franchise Mode for a while and keep myself occupied until the first patch comes out lol.

I'm not the most hardcore Madden fan out there but being that Hillis is on the cover, my local Gamestop is giving me the displays with Hillis on it to add to my collection and that the game comes out on my birthday.. it's like the stars aligned so I'll be at my local store at midnight.

Haha wow that's pretty awesome. Even though I'm a ravens fans, you gotta respect Peyton Hillis and the way he plays. He's such a humble guy too. It's really impossible not to like the guy.

That's why I bought mine through Amazon Prime. Same day delivery. Last year I received it the day before it was released in store on Monday. Haven't been home yet, but it might already be there.

I'm getting my reserved copy tomorrow after I get home from college which will be around 12ish. Can't wait to pop it in! Too bad you need an update on the roster from Xbox Live/Playstation Network in order to get the real rosters after the new CBA was put in place.
