My Dynasty League Team

4 posts in this topic

Ok, our league is somewhat unique in it's formats. I have two different dynasty leagues. They both have the same lineup requirements -- you must:

- start eight players (one qb, one kicker, one defense, and at least one RB are required)
- must run one of the following formations:

* qb - 2 rb - 2 wr - 1 te - k - def
* qb - 1 rb - 4 wr - k - def
* qb - 3 rb - 2 te - k -def
* qb - 1 rb - 3 wr - 1 te - k - def
* qb - 1 rb - 2 wr - 2 te - k - def

Scoring system is as follows

Any TD (offense, defense/ST) count as 6 points.
1 point for every 10 rushing yards. 3 point bonus for every 100 rushing yards.
1 point for every 10 recieving yards. 3 point bonus for every 100 recieving yards.
3 point bonus for 200 or more total yards on offense.

QB - 1 point for every 20 passing yards. 3 point bonus for every 200 passing yards. Same points for rushing as RB above.
DEF - 2 points per INT or Fumble Recovery. 1 point per sack. 2 point bonus for every three sacks. 2 point bonus for every three INT. 10 point bonus for a shut out. 7 point bonus for giving up 2 - 10 points. 3 point bonus for 11 - 14 points.

Now, my two teams. Both leagues are 12 team leagues.

The first is a salary cap league ($110 cap). Here is the roster with last year's salaries (this will be updated in a few weeks at the draft)
The numbers in the two middle columns are the total points scored last year, and their bye week last year.

Joe Flacco BAL QB 368 5 $10
Matt Ryan ATL QB 389 8 $9
Darren McFadden OAK RB 235 8 $4
Delone Carter IND RB 0 11 $1
Ray Rice BAL RB 209 5 $30
A.J. Green CIN WR 0 7 $1
Calvin Johnson DET WR 194 9 $19
Dez Bryant DAL WR 91 5 $4
Hakeem Nicks NYG WR 177 7 $7
Randy Moss TEN WR 64 6 $23
Billy Cundiff BAL K 117 5 $1
New England Patriots Defense NWE Def/ST 192 7 $1

On this team, I just dropped Todd Heap to pick up Delone Carter and AJ Green in our rookie waiver wire (rookies are automatically $1).
I am at exactly at the cap max of $110, but since these salaries will change (we use TSN salaries for this league), I have no idea how my cap room will look. Rice should go down a couple dollars, Moss should drop down to the $7 range. Flacco and Ryan should both go up $4 -$5. McFadden and Nicks will shoot up to the $20 range.
Any thoughts or advice? I would like to a cheap $1 - $2 TE somehow, so that I have the flexibility to run either a two RB / two WR formation, or a one RB / four WR formation, depending on the matchups each week.
Keep in mind that this is a dynasty league.

The other is a keeper league with no salary cap, and a 16 player roster limit. We are allowed to keep up to ten players (we get compensated with an extra draft pick if we keep less than ten). Here is the roster for that team:

Ben Roethlisberger PIT QB 313 11
Peyton Manning IND QB 472 11
Brandon Jacobs NYG RB 139 7
Donald Brown IND RB 74 11
Rashard Mendenhall PIT RB 216 11
Willis McGahee BAL RB 72 5
A.J. Green CIN WR 0 7
Hakeem Nicks NYG WR 177 7
Jeremy Maclin PHI WR 157 7
Jonathan Baldwin KAN WR 0 6
Randy Moss TEN WR 64 6
Reggie Wayne IND WR 182 11
Roy Williams DAL WR 83 5
Steve Smith CAR WR 61 9
T.J. Houshmandzadeh BAL WR 51 5
Jermaine Gresham CIN TE 66 7
Kyle Rudolph MIN TE 0 9
Nick Folk NYJ K 127 8
Baltimore Ravens BAL Def/ST 136 5
New England Patriots NWE Def/ST 192 7

As you can see, I have 20 players, and can only keep 10 of them. Thoughts?

Ok, well no one else has even tried to help you out so i might as well. However, to be honest, I have no idea what a dynasty league is so I am ignoring that part. As far as the keeper league goes though, I have a bit more experience there. With the players you mentioned, I would keep:

Peyton Manning
Reggie Wayne
Jeremy Maclin
A.J. Green
Hakeem Nicks
Brandon Jacobs
Baltimore Def
NE Def
and EITHER McGahee OR Mendenhall.

I say either because I think draft picks are valuable IF its in the first couple rounds. If not, I would keep both. I would be willing to take a shot on McGahee becasue even though I don't think he is going to be a raven, with the teams that need to spend money because of the Cap this year, I think he will get paid somewhere and get a lot more touches. Let's face it, he is a TD machine if he is used. Normally I wouldn't keep defenses, but one is proven and one has HUGE potential this year. You can sneak a damn good kicker if you make an early move in your draft and I think you can draft someone better with the extra pick then most of the other guys you listed. Good luck!!!!

Just had our fantasy draft today. I think I killed it in my auction league team!!My weekly starting lineup looks like this:QB Flacco $12 HB Ray Rice $27 HB Adrian Peterson $33 WR Calvin Johnson $21WR Dez Bryant $12TE Ed Dickson $1K Billy Cundiff $1 Defense Ravens $1 and on the bench I have Lee Evans and Torrey Smith for $1 each. Almost zero depth, since I only have two guys on the bench, so I better pray everyone stays healthy. But if they do, I think this team will be brutal!
