Veteran Todd Bouman, one of three veterans to work out for the Ravens Tuesday, accepted a one-year offer to sign with the team, a source said.

Bouman worked out Monday in Baltimore against Chris Simms and Joey Harrington. On Tuesday morning, he was offered a one-year deal at $830,000.

The 36-year-old Bouman will be joining his sixth team. He was an undrafted quarterback when he signed with Vikings in 1997. He's been in Minnesota, New Orleans, Green Bay, Jacksonville and St. Louis.
Those were premature, I believe. Bouman is "the guy" after Flacco, for now, until Troy is back. This does not bode well for Boller, as we are most likely going to have to IR him because there is no way we will hold 4 QBs (5 if you include the practice squad).

I wouldn't be surprised if you signed them both. Perhaps Smith's condition is worse off or he's going to miss more time than initially thought.

Or...this might be part of a ploy to throw off the Bengals.

The Bengals know to expect and prepare for Flacco...but maybe there might be trick plays with the backup QB rotated in, that the Bengals won't know to gameplan for?...
.

.
...or maybe I'm just making **** up. LOL.

Yeah, not sure what trick plays we could run with a 36 year-old, save for the "Statue of Liberty" play :P

I think Todd Bouman is a great QB and i hope great for the ravens if he plays for the ravens and if joe goes down with a injury but i hope not they can bring in Todd Bouman for QB

I'd rather have Todd Bouman than the other QB's. I hope they work out something smooth because we can't afford to loose someone else we already cut alot of talent. I'd rather put Boller on I.R. for now, than carry 4.

That would be cool if we didn't sign any of the guys that we just brought in, then we could pull Bramlet up off of the PS the day before the Bengals game (revenge game against the team that drafted him).

I don't understand signing a guy without any familiarity with Cam's O. and having them back up Flacco without alot of prep time, when we have a kid on the PS (Bramlet) that is familiar with the system and came in and played pretty good the last pre-season game, considering he only had a walkthough at the hotel. And Bramlet would cost alot less than the three that we brought in.

The Packers are going into the season without a single QB having an NFL start under their belt. I know we are under different circumstances, but I don't see why we need another QB. We should put Boller on IR, have Flacco start, move Bramlet into the #2 spot and give him a shot if Flacco stuggles, then when Smith gets healthy have an open competition for starter.

Yeah I agree with you on Bouman over guys such as Harrington...I mean come on Harrington has done NOTHING in the NFL. From what I have read Bouman out performed the rest of the three at the workout so why not we seem to collect QBs now anyways right?

i know harrington went 15/15 td/int in 05 and that was his best ratio in his career it would be a mistake to pick him up if we wanna hang on to the ball

P.S. stop watching espn they obviously dont know what the hell their talking about

^That 15/15 td/int ratio was despite playing conservatively to the point where he would hold the ball and take a sack if there was any sign of pressure.

Ahhh! Flacco is the last man standing. So bY default yeah he won and it is almost Sunday. Now we get to see our new QB in a real game when it counts for 4 Qtrs. GOOD LUCK FLACCO!

Don't want to argue over this but TECHNICALLY we did NOT do this. Troy getting ill caused him to miss out on starting the game and getting more time to actually "compete". I support Flacco and like him alot but I wish Troy had gotten his chance. Please don't go saying he did have his chance because he has not played anywhere as much as Kyle has and he did not have imo the opportunity to 'win' that competition. I hope he feels better soon and is able to get on that field so I/We can see what he can do. Doesn't mean I am not behind Joe because I see tremendous potential in him and I am glad we got him.

Now back to the topic at hand. So does this make Bouman our only backup? At least until Troy is better? I was NOT impressed with Bramlet and I'm not sure what's going to happen with Kyle. How can we keep 4 QB's?
